RECAP:

He slowly started to pull away then pecked my lips a few times with a HUGE smile. I couldn’t keep my eyes off his smile, the smile that looked so familiar….I slowly started to look up and panic started showing in my eyes when I realized who my mate is. Shit.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“No…” He whispered as his smile was slowly fading away. “YOU CAN’T BE MY MATE! SHE’S SUPPOSED TO BE BEAUTIFUL AND STRONG! NOT SOME WORTHLESS FAT BITCH LIKE YOU!” he roared.

Tears welled up in my eyes and rolled down my cheeks unwillingly; I went to look at the ground but then noticed his arms still holding me up. He must have realized what I was looking at, in the next second he ripped his arms off of me like I was on fire and shoved me a few feet away. As much as I wanted to reach out to him and put his arms back around me I knew I couldn’t.

“You can’t be my mate. What’s everyone going to think? I’m supposed to be the new beta. I can’t have some weak and defenseless girl like you be my mate. I reject you.” He stated with a blank face.

As if my heart was literally ripped out of my chest and the air got kicked out of my lungs. I gasped and grabbed my chest trying to catch my breath again. The tears wouldn’t stop now; I stared at him with my heart breaking into smaller and smaller pieces. I finally fell to my knees and crouched trying to catch my breath. It felt like a burning hole in my chest that I tried to ignore but if I did it would come back ten times worse. I slowly looked up at him and noticed he started to turn around and walk away.

I reached for his hand, “WILL! No don’t do this please! I can’t be without you! I’ll lose my wolf and so will you!” I whisper –shouted, considering I couldn’t breathe still.

“I’d rather lose my wolf than be with you.” With that he ripped his hand out of mine and walked away.

I crumbled to the ground in the fetal position still trying to catch my breath. I didn’t realize school has already started till I looked up and noticed no one outside. Good thing no one saw that, wouldn’t want his popularity get ruined with everyone knowing his mate is a weak defenseless girl.

I felt a soft hand on my hair, causing me to flinch and look up fast. Alice had tears in her eyes and a small sad smile on her face. “Don’t worry Jasmine, you’re a lot better without him” she cooed.

“I don’t want to be here anymore. I can’t handle it. I’m leaving today. I don’t know were I’m going but I’ll find something, I don’t know if I’ll come back. But I can’t do this anymore.” I stated while whipping my cheeks and standing up, she stood too with a shock and sadness written through her eyes.

“I understand Jas, I’ll miss you. Just know that I’ll always be here, if you ever decide to come visit. I love you.” She stated as a few tears went down her cheeks.

“I know. I will always remember you and love you; you’re the only one that actually helped me here. I’ll try to stay in touch.” I pulled her into a long soft hug.

“Bye Jas.” She whispered into my shoulder.

“Bye Al. I love you.” I whispered then let go and smiled softly. “I’m going to be okay.”

With that I walked to the forest shifted into my wolf and started making my way back to my house.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I got home shifted in my backyard, ran to my room put on a pair of pants and a shirt then grabbed my backpack stuffed my money, extra clothes, phone, and anything else I needed quickly. Then I ran down to the kitchen grabbed a piece of paper and a pen writing a quick letter;

“To whoever gets this first,

By the time you read this I will be gone. No not like at the store or anything I will be out of this territory. I’m not coming back. I’ve lived with this pack abusing me for 12 years. I can’t handle it anymore. Don’t try looking for me because I will be long gone and you won’t be able to find me. If you do I just won’t come home. If this even is home anymore.

Goodbye Forever,

Jasmine Leigh Ann Parker

I folded the note and put a jar on top of it so it won’t blow away then ran towards the back door. Walking to the entrance of the forest facing towards the territory line, I set my backpack down and shifted. I shook out my fur getting comfortable. Taking my backpack in my teeth I started running as fast as I could get to the line. Being a wolf has its perks, were about the size of a small horse with keen senses, speed and strength.

Opening my mind link I heard everyone but focused on one person. Will.  Usually since we are mates we can feel each other. I guess he chose to ignore it, so I said one last thing to him.

“Goodbye William.” Then I crossed the territory line feeling my midline close for good.
