It was sunny when I woke up this morning, the birds were chirping, I could smell the freshly cut grass, the sound of the sprinklers. It was all very calming, taking a deep breath I turned over to my back and smiled softly whilst staring at the ceiling, feeling the warmth of the sun and the cool morning breeze coming through the crack in my window. Closing my eyes softly taking one deeper bre-“JASMINE GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE AND COOK THIS DAMN BREAKFAST!” Good Morning.

My names Jasmine Leigh Ann Parker, yes I know a mouthful but people just call me runt, worthless, mutt, bitch, fat, stupid;  whatever you can think of. You see I’m not the most popular person in my pack, or the prettiest. At least that’s what people tell me, I’m 5’3, short blonde hair with blue eyes that turn green during the summer and grey during the winter. I have scars from an old rogue attack that killed some of my pack. I have 3 long claw marks down the right side of my face and a few along my body. My wolf is completely different from me, she’s pure white except for the small brown strands in it and the scars. She says it makes us unique. Personally, I hate it.

I was born into an alpha bloodline. My father is Alpha of the pack as we speak, my mother passed away when I was young during the rogue attack.  I have an older brother named Dustin; he’s 6’2, lean, dirty blonde hair, and the same eyes as me. The only thing is EVERYONE loves him, while everyone despises me. He’s supposed to be the next Alpha. My dad is so proud of him, I don’t think he’s ready for it being 18 and not have found his mate yet, and sleeping with anything that walks…I don’t think that shouts responsibility does it? NO.

“JASMINE , IF I HAVE TO COME UP THERE AND GET YOUR WORTHLESS ASS AND DRAG IT OUT OF THE BEDROOM YOU WON’T LIVE TO SEE TOMMOROW!!” Here we go.. Throwing on a very ratty loose shirt and some baggy sweatpants, I run down the stairs being careful not to slip and into the kitchen to see 2 people with very disappointed looks on their face.

“Jasmine is it so hard to be down here in time to get food on the table for me and your brother before we get up?” my father states. I bow my head and stand straight with a rigid posture.

“I’m sorry father, it won’t happen again” I whisper so lowly no human would be able to hear it.

“Well then where is it? Your brother and I have things to do during the day we don’t have time to sit around and wait for a worthless piece of shit to finish making us breakfast.” He says casually.

I can feel tears starting to well up in my eyes as I turn around to start making breakf-*BAM* there’s an unbearable pain in my shoulder as I look up from the ground where I now lay, to see my father with a  furious look on his face.

“YOU FINISH TALKING TO ME THEN YOU CAN START COOKING NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON ME” he commands in his alpha tone which has me bowing my head and whimpering. “NOW STAND UP YOU SLUT.”

With shaky knees I continue to stare at the ground not once looking at him in the eyes. “Yes alpha?”

“You will be cooking us breakfast, and if you even begin to think you’re getting ANY of it your wrong, when I get home this evening this house better be SPOTLESS. If you do not do what you are told we will have a repeat of last week. Do you understand me?” I nod weakly still not looking in his eyes. “I SAID DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?” commanding in his alpha tone.

“Yes, Alpha.” I say bowing my head. “Good now start cooking us something good.” He states while walking back to the table. I cautiously look up and see my brother sitting at the kitchen table smiling smugly, his eyes are blank no help, no sympathy, regret. NOTHING. As I go to make breakfast I walk to the fridge and pull out ingredients, ignoring the aching feeling in my shoulder that’s probably broken considering the dent in the fridge.
