Waking up, my head was throbbing like there was no tomorrow. Must have been the stuff they gave me, I let out a dry chuckle. I start shuffling around; checking out my predicament before doing anything, the coast of was clear, time to get out of wherever here is. Rolling over so that I was on my stomach, putting my hands on each side of my body and pushing up, bringing my legs underneath me so I was sort of sitting on either my butt or my legs either one would be a serious improvement to where I ended up.

Well that’s what was supposed to happen, that was until I practically face planted into the floor, which was cold concrete. At this point I either had an annoyed or dazed look on my face. I twisted my upper body around so I could see what was causing my legs to not move, well, corporate with the rest of my body. I couldn’t see anything physically wrong with them and they hadn’t been tied up or anything so they should be able to perform perfectly well shouldn’t they?

I thought about attempting to sit up again then decided against it, it wasn’t the best thing to do; I didn’t want to increase the possibility of knocking myself out again. Who knows how long it would take for me to come back around? I tried to wiggle my toes, my toes were moving I could see them but strangely I couldn’t feel them moving. Oh, no they didn’t! I soon discovered that I had no feeling my waist down. Ugh! There goes my perfect escape plan out the window, to tell you the truth I didn’t really have much of an escape plan, I was just going to wing it and pray on my lucky stars, if I had any that is after today, it wasn’t that likely seeing the good luck I’ve been having already.

I let out a defeated groan and rolled back over so that I was lying on my back, looking up at the stone ceiling. Since I had no choice but to stay right where I am, for the time being anyway, I decided to entertain myself. I started to wonder about anything and everything, pretty much anywhere from where I was to what my mum would be doing right now. I had my hands behind my head, making it both painful and comfortable, my head was off the ground yet my hands were taking virtually all of the weight of my head and it was slowly making them hurt from being pushed up against the concrete.

I could hear the low creaking of floor boards from above me, so from what I’ve figured out with the large amount of sudden free time I’ve been given that I was under a type of building. Apart from that, I had no idea what was going on let alone what happened while I was out, I shook my head to stop myself thinking of the different scenarios that could have happened. I don’t need any more depressive vibes or thoughts right now, I need to keep positive, have to keep positive. I was somewhat tempted to shut my eyes and let myself drift off for a moment or two and whenever my eyes start drooping closed I hear another creak of an overhead floor board and get shaken out of my sleepy daze.

A fair amount of time I was guessing had gone past and there still was no sign of anything living around, which was a good and bad thing. I wasn’t exactly sure on the time but I knew it was some time during the day because I reckon I skipped both breakfast and lunch; I could literally feel my stomach eating itself. Attempting to distract myself from my hunger situation, for the first time I gave the room a look over. Nothing real interesting, basically it was a simple concrete and stone room with no other source of light besides the small exposed light bulb dangling from the ceiling.

Noticing that there was a wall not too far away, I thought it would be worth at least trying to get over to it so I could lean against it. Take two. Surprisingly it was easier, since I was finally starting to get feeling back into my upper legs. About time! So all I need was just shuffled backwards, of course dragging my-for the time being-useless legs towards the wall. A small bead of sweat formed on my forehead. Who knew you depended on your legs that much? Doing a little victory dance, yeah not my finest hour, celebrating in my mere accomplishment. I’m sure if mum was here she would be shaking her head with an amused look on her face right now, she was always entertained by the unusual and quirky gestures that I made. Smiling sadly I shut my eyes watching all my happy memories play back behind my closed eyelids.
