Ok, this one is probably the biggest, most important chapters of this book so far. Sorry it took a bit longer than expected, i had a little trouble finding the words get my point across. Anyway, here it is regardless and i hope you enjoy it as much as i have enjoyed writing it. This is by far my favourite chapter. You get small glimpses of future characters that are essential to the story line of this book.

I would like to dedicate this chapter to a bestie of mine that has commented on some of my pieces from 'Blue Butterflies' (please check it out) and they've given me some great feedback. So i'm giving a big shout out to them for just being awesome!!! Luv ya <3

My sides hurt from laughing so much; I haven’t laughed this hard in ages it almost made me cry to think that I could’ve gone another day without laughing. From now on I’ll have at least one laughing fit a day, and luckily Mariam decided to be a part of my laughing crusade, I was glad I wouldn’t be the only crazy one. We’ve only known each other for a good part of an hour and we’re already on the term of really good friends, she was around my age she said that she was 19 so that’s only 3 years older.

We were currently sitting on my super awesome kind sized bed and talking about basically anything that came to our minds. Right now we were dying of laughter over the topic of embarrassing events that have happened to us and trust me we have more than enough between us. Well Mariam being the angelic person she was she never got in trouble or even did anything embarrassing well until she entered the high school life that is. Apparently she was quite the rebel back in the day, who would have thought an innocent looking young woman the school yard rebel.

Apart from our quirky humour there wasn’t really anything the same about us, but we didn’t know each other that well yet. By what Marian told me I was going to be here for a while.

“What? No!” I stammered, “No, I can’t” shaking my head violently.

“If it was up to me I wouldn’t have even brought you in the first place but that choice wasn’t up to me. No one here had the control or the courage to stand up for you, you have to understand” she showed sympathy by squeezing my shoulder. “It’s the boss. He’s got this idea into his head and it concerns you from what I’ve gathered. Apart from that I have no further knowledge on the matter” she sighed and getting off the bed, starting to pace.

“Well, what’s going to happen to me?” I pleaded but she only shook her head sadly.

“I wish I could tell you but I’ve been one of the people that weren’t told probably just in case we started getting a soft spot for you and told you” she explained, running a hand through her loose hair.

I just shook my head and got off the bed and went towards the bay window and sat down on the window seat bringing my knees up to my chin.

“Hey, don’t you worry” Her voice lost its frustrated tone and took on a more comforting feel to it. She came over and wrapped in arms around me, I moved over so she could also sit on the seat. “The boss is pretty fair when you get to know him; it’s not in his nature to be cruel to anything even if he does come across as the big bad wolf.” Making me giggle and a smile brightened up my once dull face, of course she would use humour to bring a smile to my face, well her tactic has worked and it’s a sure thing from now on.

“Really?” my voice suddenly had gone into more of a whisper.

“Yeah” she confirmed.

I looked out the window and all I could see was forest, having the density to appear both open and thick in foliage. I saw an old oak tree with a worn out looking tyre tied to a sturdy piece of rope that was secured around one of the lower limbs. Abruptly I got a memory fly in from nowhere; it was of me and me. She was pushing me on a tyre swing-identical to the one outside-coincidently it also hung from an oak tree branch. I tightened to my grip on Mariam’s arm as I felt tears prick my eyes.
