Some members of the family were over our house for a small get together, just to catch up. I walked out of the living room where everyone is gathered to get a drink from the kitchen. To get to the kitchen from the living room you would have to cross through the main entrance hallway where the stairs leading to the second floor were situated. As I made my way over I saw my five year old sister, Alisa, sitting on the third step giggling and making funny faces. I hadn't even noticed she wasn't with everyone else.
"What are you doing?" I asked playfully, hoping to be amused.
"I'm playing with my friend!" she told me cheerfully. "She's really funny."
She looked up and stuck out her tongue before breaking out in another fit of giggles.
"Who's your friend?" I asked.
"She's really pretty! She has long braids and can fly!"
"Well that's great, Alisa." I said, about to turn and walk away.
"She also has braids around her neck." She exclaimed.
I stopped walking and turned around.
"What?" I asked, a little confused.
"She has braids around her neck."
She looked up again and stuck her tongue out while making a strained sound. She stopped and started giggling again.
I was horrified.
She was acting as a person who was choking as they were being hung by a rope.
