I work late for most nights out of the week as a nurse and can't always read my two kids their bedtime story before leaving. One night I got an emergency call into the hospital.
"Sorry guys. I can't read to you tonight, but I promise I'll read to you tomorrow!" I say to them as I am about to walk out of their bedroom.
"Don't worry mommy! Aunty Eve will read to us." My one son said cheerfully.
My heart skipped a beat. I stopped in the doorway and spun around.
"W-what?"
"Aunty Evey! She looks just like you! She comes into our room at night and reads and sings to us."
I didn't know how to react. I never told them that I had an identical twin sister who died after birth. Her name was Eve.
