About forty six meters down Sam found rock. He tried to dig around it but under was more rock. So Sam got his pic axe and started mining again. Sam put down the sultanas to get out his pic axe, but they rolled down a gap in the rock and Herbert went with them. Sam quickly got out his pic axe and started mining as fast as could. He mined and mined and mined. Then he mined one more rock, and fell into a cave. Pain shot through him like a bullet. He was out cold for half an hour. When he did wake up, Herbert was sniffing his face. His star shaped nose felt weird on his skin. Sam picked up Herbert and gave him some more sultanas. Sam looked around the cave, it didn't have anything like gold, or diamond, or ruby, or even coal. It was just stone from as far as the eye could see, (which wasn't that far because it was really dark.)

He started walking through, hoping to get some information for his report. He stopped at a hole that looked like Herbert's except made of stone. He shone his torch on it. Then a red belly black snake jumped out. Sam stepped back, felling scared but also exited. He took a picture and wrote down, In our area, Red belly black snakes sleep in caves forty-six meters down. The snake then jumped at Herbert and tried to eat him. Fortunately Sam was there, he hit the ground with the pic-axe which scared it away. Then, he put a rock in the hole so the snake couldn't come back out.

After that he kept walking until he came to a stop when he saw a shimmer of red light in a down way passage. He walked down two meters until he saw a bigger cave full of beautiful ruby's. He took another picture and wrote down. Ruby is found forty-eight meters down in our area. Next he pulled a little bit out of the ground so he sell it with the gold & quartz. He kept walking through the writing things like, quartz is found near gold in our area which is fifty meters down, and, dimond is found in lava fifty-four meters down, until he saw the shadow of a man.
