This sucks, the rain looks like it started coming down harder. Every drop slams onto the tin roof making it extremely loud and hard to hear. There isn't much to do and no one around to watch that will keep me occupied, I would read my new school books but I dont want to risk getting them wet.
"Sakiko?" I hear a voice and look up from fiddling with my fingers to see Akito standing tall in his black suit once again.
"Akito, hey." I respond with a gentle smile.
"What are you doing out here?" He asks curiously as he sits next to me on the creaky wooden bench.
"I was on my way home and the rain hit, so I ran to the closest building around. What about you?" I explain and ask him.
"I knew I should have driven you home haha, I just wanted to get something to drink before I got home, I also just wanted an excuse to drive around." Akito laughs and moves his hair out of his face, kind of reminding me of Kyoya.
"Ah it's just a little rain, I would've usually walked through it, but I don't want to get my new dress and books wet. You like lemonade?" I assure him so he doesn't feel bad about not driving me home.
"Ah you're a trooper, and yeah lemonade is pretty good, why?" He chuckles and tilts his head a bit.
"Ah good haha." I reply and stand up, I walk over to the vending machine and put in some change then pick out a lemonade.
"You don't have t-" Akito starts and I cut him off
"Don't worry, it's my pleasure, especially after you drove me around today haha. This is the least I can do." I laugh as the can clanks around in the machine, I grab the lemonade and toss it to him smiling.
It surprised him a but, but he caught it and clicked open the can taking a sip.
"Ah, thanks, this hits the spot." Akito laughs and pats his stomach.
"So, are you ready to go?" Akito says standing up suddenly.
"Huh? Go where?" I ask raising an eyebrow.
"I'm gonna take you home, there's no way I'm going to let you walk home in this, and I'm sure you have things to do at home." He explains smiling, he's already driven me around all day, I'll feel bad.
"You really don't have t-" I start
"Ah ah ah! Nope, don't say anything. I'm not taking no for an answer." Akito laughs.
I look at the ground smiling, "fine, I'm ready to go." I shake my head and grab my dress.
"I got these" Akito says walking over and grabbing the bag of books.
"Thank you." I smile and walk to the car with him.
"I'll put this in the trunk, you just hop in." Akito says walking around me to the back of the car, I get into the passenger seat and close the door.
It's warm in here, outside its a little chilly since the rain is here. It's only mid September but fall gets here faster the closer it gets it seems.
Akito opens his door and plops into his seat and closes the door.
"Here, just type in your address and the GPS will do the rest." Akito says handing me a clunky GPS with the screen already lit up and ready for me to type in the destination.
I tap the screen and put in my address, handing it back to him.
"Why don't you put that dress in the back seat so it doesn't get wrinkled up." Akito suggests smiling.
"I'm gonna go throw away my can real quick and then we'll leave." He adds.
"Okay." I answer as he hops out of the car, I turn my body around in the seat put the dress across the back seat smoothly.
"Good." I smile and sit back in my seat normally and to see Akito in the door way smiling, it kind of startled me but that's okay.
"All set?" He chuckles, I nod my head and he crawls back in the car while I buckle in my seat belt.
He turns on the car and pulls out of the parking lot.
"If it's not too personal, what were you doing at the hospital this morning?" Akito asks curiously, leaning his head in my direction but keeping his eyes on the road.
"Oh it's fine, I was just visiting my dad." I answer smiling
"Ah so that's the lucky man who had those muffins made for him." He laughs stopping at a red light.
"Yep, blueberry muffins are his favorite." I smile looking out the window.
"Is he sick?" Akito asks.
"Unfortunately." I nod my head "Lung cancer, rumor has it that it might be terminal soon..." I say trying not to choke on my words.
"Sakiko, I'm so sorry." Akito says comfortingly while putting his hand on my leg.
My face turns pink and I look back out the window again at the small trees we pass.
I shake my head, "He had a good run though, and he stays positive, so it's hard to be sad about it, you know?" I say smiling as I think about him with a big goofy grin on his face.
"He sounds like one hell of a man." Akito responds cheerfully, putting his hand back on the wheel
"He really is." I whisper looking at the roof of the car and sink into my seat.

I watch as Akito drives I look at the road, and back at him, continuously shifting my focus on either Akito carefully, yet happily drive or gloomy skies and pouring rain, hearing it tap against the car and hit the window. Something about it is peaceful, though it won't last long because we're pulling into the parking lot of our apartment complex.
"Here." Akito says happily as he puts the car in park.
"Thank you a ton Aki-" my words are blocked off suddenly and then I realize it.
Akito's lips are pressing against mine softly, taking me by surprise I just sit their with my eyes wide.
Akito takes his face away from mine.
"I'm uh, I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself." He says turning to the wheel again.
I didn't have any words, I just stared at him, to have my first kiss taken so suddenly. I touch my lips and finally snap out of it.
My face turns red and I look out the window.
"It's okay." I peep quietly, but is it really? I'm about to go to school with this mans brother, not only is there that. But he's not even in school anymore, what am I thinking? What is he thinking? Oh jeez what do I do?
"Alrighty." Akito laughs, "you need any help taking your stuff inside?
"Oh no, I got it from here." I respond trying to not be awkward and play it cool like him.
"Mmk, I'll pop the trunk, just make sure you close it." He says pressing a button behind the steering wheel.
I open the door and crawl out, the rain seems light here, it's just sprinkling, I walk behind the car and grab my bad from the trunk then close it.
Akito gets out holding my dress, he walks over and lays it over my empty arm.
"Thank you though." I sigh "Really."
I couldn't be more appreciative about all this
"It's my pleasu-" Akito's words are stopped by his cell phone ringing.
"I gotta take this." He sighs flipping open his phone and answering it.
"I'll let you go." I whisper pointing to my apartment door.
He nods and smiles walking into his car while talking on the phone. I walk to the front door and watch the car leave the parking lot.
