The black shadow loomed over the little girl as she slept happily, arms clutched around her teddy unicorn. But her happiness was to be no more. The shadow touched her and She started to cry. The shadow slowly drained all the happiness out of her and the lollipops in her dreams to knives, the chocolate bars to chainsaws. Sometimes he would only drain the happiness out of dreams and leave you be as that was enough, that's what humans call "nightmares" but tonight, his supply has been drained... All this little girl's happiness was to be gone. Soon enough, she was merely a shell, no hopes, no dreams, no feelings. Once he's done, he takes her with him.
