It's move-in day! After the summer semester, we had two much-needed weeks off before beginning the fall semester.

-

Although I started college in the summer, it was an entire different ball game when it came to starting the fall semester. There were way more students occupying the apartment building that I lived in. There were way more students in general. I was excited to see new faces and have fresh, new experiences.

I signed my name in once again and went to my room. My decoration and personal belongings were still there. About an hour after I got back to campus, we had to go downstairs to meet other freshmen. We were placed into teams for the weekend, and they were divided by intended majors. They gave everyone with the same major the same-color shirt.

The first activity was a meet-and-greet with the members of our team. I introduced myself, they introduced themselves then I began to slowly pull away. Mariah and I were roommates again and the only person I had interest in speaking with was her. Nobody seemed too enthusiastic about being there, and I was a very upbeat individual. I was a little bored.

We moved onto the next activity. This one was a scavenger hunt. Oh no, I was not happy about. It consisted of riddles that I couldn't figure out and running... lots and lots of running. A girl was out of shape from the summer semester so running is not something I found attractive at that moment. Although I didn't want to do it, I tried. I made it to the second riddle, shook my head and walked back to my room. I sat there until the end of the day.

-

It was around 7pm, and I was bored once again. I decided to be a little spontaneous. I had access to the other apartment buildings, so I walked into different buildings in an attempt to meet people. I walked into the third building I saw. I made it onto the second floor and knocked on random doors, hoping the students would be nice enough to let me in so we could mingle.

The first door I knocked on answered and they were a little confused as to who I was.
"Hi, I'm Camila. I was a little bored so I decided to meet new people. Am I allowed to come in?"
"Oh sure! My name if Tiffany. My roommates names are Amber, Sasha, Jaime and Melissa."
"It's so nice to meet you all." I said with a genuine smile on my face.
Sasha smiled greatly, "it's so nice to meet you too! I was wondering when will people begin speaking around here."
Everyone in the apartment laughed.
I said, "well I live a few apartment buildings away. Feel free to find me.
I'll be around, but I'm going to go see if other people around here are willing to accept my spontaneity."
"Ok. It was nice meeting you and I will definitely take you up on that offer", Jaime says.

I walk out and venture onto the next floor to find another apartment to bother. I knock on the door of an apartment directly above the one I was just in. Someone answers:
"Hi, I'm Camila. I'm just knocking on random apartments trying to meet new people", I said with a soft smile on my face.
"Hey, come on in! I'm Tania."
"It's nice to meet you. Are your other housemates here?"
"Yes, their in the first bedroom trying to get to know each other. You can join if you'd like."
"That sounds great."

She escorts me into the first bedroom.
"Everyone, this is Camila. She is just floating around here looking to meet other students."
Everyone introduced themselves.
"So is this everyone who lives here?" I state, just asking so I know if I should expect anymore faces to appear.
"Uhh no. Normani has her own room. Ill go get her."
"You don't have to bother."
"I'm pretty sure she'll be glad to meet someone new, it's not a problem."
"Sounds good."

I sit on the chair presented in front of me.

"Camila, this is Normani."

I turn around to give a proper introduction, but what I see before my eyes stun me. It was the dreamy girl that I saw while giving the housing tours over the summer.

"H-Hi... I'm Camila. Camila Caterpillar, I mean Camila Cabello!" I squint my eyes hard then open them back up.
She chuckles. "Hey, I'm Normani. I think I saw you before."
Normani. Her name had a ring to it. I finally learned her name.
"Oh yeah, you probably did." I tried to play it cool so that I didn't seem like I paid too much attention to her during the orientation.
"I was here over the summer, so if any of you came, you probably saw me before."
Tania agrees with Normani. "Yeah, I saw you too. What year are you?"
"I'm a freshmen. I just started a little early."
"Really? That's pretty cool."
I smiled. "Thanks."
Normani makes her way to Tania's bed and takes a seat.
"So how do you like college? Since you've already been here." Tania begins to question.
"Oh it's great up here. I'm just waiting for the day my girlfriend can come up here to visit me."
"YOU'RE GAY?" Tania stands from out of her seat.
"Well I like girls. Not so sure about guys." We all laughed again.
I look at Normani to see if she was going to react to any of the things that I was saying. I noticed she looked at ground as if she was defeated when I said I was waiting for the day Hailey could visit me, but why, I wondered. I let it go, I had no other option.
"So, are you straight Tania?"
"Strictly dickley."
I burst into laughter at her response. Well okay then. I wasn't really concerned with her sexuality, I was just using my "sudden interest" as a way to ask Normani if she liked females, without being too straight forward.
"How about you Normani?"
"I'm bi."
YES. Hope lives here. Although I wasn't TOO thrilled at the thought that she had an interest in guys, it was good enough.

Time for another *pause*

I didn't have a great experience with the bisexual people I was involved with. I feel like being with someone who was bi doubles the competition, and doubles the chances of being hurt, left or cheated on. Of course I had nothing against them, and I would give someone who identifies as such a chance, if I wanted them but the thought of the bad can be overwhelming for me. It's hard to trust their friends, guys or girls, because you never know what could happen.

*Presses play*

After I received the response I was looking for, I said my goodbyes for the night and made my way back to my apartment and into my room. I prepared for a long and adventurous semester, and I had a feeling that that was definitely not going to be the last that I saw of Normani.
