My shoes lightly against the concrete floor, the city streets were almost empty tonight. Many people seemed to have opted for the festival this night. "It sure looks beautiful out here," chirped Totsuka as he walked beside me with his camera scanning the area around us.
"It looks the same to me!" Yata called back. He was on his skateboard not too far away. "It's better with less people around."
I glanced around and watched as the lights on the monitors danced quickly to flash different ads. Tonight I found myself playing with the Homra members. All were lively, aside from the King and Anna, they had their own reason for being there. Each member proudly showed me where their pride was sealed and all I could do was listen politely and laugh with them before set us out to buy treats. "Totsuka," I muttered looking up at the male. "Why had you joined Homra?"
Like always he gave a warm smile before he spoke, "I wanted to serve my king. I knew he's be someone important someday," he said turning off his camera. "Now, Misaki, why did you join?" Totsuka must have seen me stiffen because he rephrased his question as soon as he asked it. "Why did you join Yata and Fushimi?""Old man, Misaki!" Our attention turned to Yata who stood at the entrance of a convenience store with his board under his right foot.
Totsuka held up a hand and waved him in a "shoo" motion. "Go ahead without us!"
With that he turned to me and seemed to wait for a response. I chuckled and said in all honesty, "I don't know. I have different reasons for both." I kicked a small stone as we inched closer to the store's entrance. "Fushimi has always been a good friend in class, and Yata," I paused for a bit as we decided not to go in, "Yata just seemed to reel me in over the years. He has something that seems to attract me, like his light. This will sound weird, but I think Yatagarasu has a beautiful light to him."
