Harry had grown accustomed to flying at night and sleeping by day. They'd been doing it for almost a month and a half now, Harry began to notice that they would back track or go directions that were completely unnecessary, Harry guessed to throw off anyone trying to track them. They'd soon run out of provisions and would either have to stock up, hunt or reach their destination. And seeing as Theo showed no signs of breaking their loop-the-loop pattern and landing in rural places it seemed like hunting was going to be the only option. Harry had never hunted before, he played chase with Shamus sometimes but felt that was something entirely different. On the morning that marked their fifth week travelling Theo landed them on the out skirts of a sleepy town in Dublin Ireland. He lead Harry to the bar of a small inn called the Lynx's Lair.
"I don't serve minors so ya best be ere askin for directions lads." The large mean looking man said.
"Actually Lenny, I'm looking for a place to rest my head, is there space for my aching wing on one of your beds." Theo said causally not catching the attention of anyone around the bar as he drew a paw print in the dust on the counter. Lenny swept the dust away.
"Is it one bed then?" He asked lowly. Theo shook his head.
"Two. Please."
"Meet me around back." Lenny said and then louder he bellowed. "I told ya I don't serve minors now scat ya lil' Devils." Theo and Harry left and slipped around back, they waited half an hour before the back door opened and Lenny told them to hurry inside.
"It's been a while since one of my own has come to town. You coming to or from then?" Lenny asked.
"To." Theo replied as Harry stood off to the side. The man smelt strongly of cigars, probably to put off his scent to prying union members.
"Your little mate is rather quiet. Meek one then?" Lenny said eyeing Harry.
"He's not my mate." Theo informed Lenny and then more quietly he added. "Don't get any idea's. He's usually more fiery than this but he recently lost an intended." Lenny nodded solemnly, it was considered incredibly rude to hit on a mourning inherited. Harry, unaware of the conversation but acutely aware that Lenny's somewhat predatory glances turned into looks of pity, he wasn't sure which was worse.
"Two beds then fella's, tomorrow will be a doozy." Lenny said unlocking a room for them. Theo watched as Harry stepped inside and then followed pausing only to give Lenny a bag of coin and a list of provisions. Theo then sat on one of the rather lavish beds in the room that didn't suit the inn at all.
"What's happening tomorrow?" Harry asked.
"Tomorrow we make the jump." Theo replied. "There's a reason we've gone so long without being detected. Our island is surrounded by a large powerful barrier that magic tends to avoid and humans think is cursed. It's impossible for us to get to without a barrier jumper such as Lenny. Someone who specialises in getting in and out of the barrier."
"Where is it?" Harry asked.
"... Bermuda... Kind of."
"You're telling me that the wind cats reside on an unknown island in the Bermuda Triangle?"
"Yes. That's where it is now."
"It moves?"
"I told you, we are very elusive."
"A hybrid race of inherited thought to be wiped out living on an unknown, moving island currently found in the Bermuda Triangle."
"When you say it like that is sounds ridiculous."
"Because it is."
"Well we didn't get by like we did being normal so whatever." Theo threw a pillow at Harry and ducked as it got thrown back. "Go to sleep kitten, once we're in the barrier it'll be the home stretch."
