Marriage Violation

Chapter 12

     Fishing with my dad and Dominic was fun. I didn't catch shit but they both caught something. I enjoyed watching my dad and Dominic bond. With me being pregnant, I know my dad will get to know Dominic more. I was tired as hell and ready to go. Dominic I wanna thank you for the fishing trip and for making my daughter happy. I wanna thank you for creating such a wonderful woman, Dominic said. I'm glad y'all are happy and y'all have my full support. We'll be coming back to visit real soon. Maybe ill come out there and give y'all a visit. We have to go, don't wanna miss our flight. Call me when y'all land, my dad said while hugging me. We will, I love you. I love you too baby girl. I kept thinking about how im going to tell Dominic im pregnant. I wanna make it real special. I really enjoyed spending time with your dad. It's good to know he's happy for us. We should talk about the wedding and start planning. Seeing how much I love you and can't wait to be your wife, I wanna get married right away. How soon? Maybe 4 months, I said. That's kind of soon baby. I know, im just so excited I can't wait to do it. It's not a problem, we can make it work. When we get back home, ill start making some calls. I wanna get married before I have the baby and before I start showing. I know 4 months is really early but why wait? I really don't care if my family or his family come. I feel like my mother going to try to ruin it if she comes. I know my dad will be hurt if I didn't let him give me away. Once we pick a location and date, im going to start sending out invitations. Can't believe im getting married.

    We finally made it home and I was tired as hell. I was so ready to shower and lay down. Glad we made it back at night time, don't have to do nothing or worrying about people coming over. I thought of a great way to tell Dominic about the baby. We should throw an engagement party, we can announce the big date, and I can announce the baby. Since he proposed at his event, I can share the baby news at mine. Baby what you have planned for today? Just checking on the office space, seeing if it's ready to go. What's up? I wanted to talk a little about the wedding. I want to have an engagement party announcing the big date. That should be fun, when you wanna do it? Probably next month, give everybody some time to take off and fly here. When you wanna do this? The wedding? Yeah, what date? Let's see how long it takes for me to get a dress and get all the other stuff. I want a small wedding, nothing too big. Probably 3 or 4 bridesmaids and groomsmen. That's fine with me, Dominic said. Start looking for dress ideas, ill call the stylist. Guess ill do all of this today. I'll see you later, Dominic said while kissing me. 

     I called Hailey to see if she could do some wedding shopping with me. Of course, she was in class. I called Hakeem to see if he was willing to go with me. I know that sounds gay but Hakeem always here for me when Hailey can't be. I told Hakeem to meet me at a bridal shop. Hey! Hey, how are you? I'm good and you? Wondering why the hell im at a bridal shop. Thanks for coming tho. How was the trip back home? My dad welcomed Dominic with opened arms, like I knew he would. My mother was, my mother. She didn't give him a chance at all. She said she'll never be happy for me or accept our relationship. I left after that. I thought since y'all getting married, she would at least give him a chance. I thought the same thing Hakeem. We went to a hotel, the one we always wanted to go to when we were kids. That hotel still there? Yep, we had the best room there. The next day, Dominic wanted to go fishing with my dad. While he was buying fishing stuff, my mother asked me to come over. She was being all nice to me and shit. Why? I don't know, I just felt like she was up to something. I texted my dad and told him she acting all weird. He left his meeting and came back. I was in the bathroom until he got there. Dominic came and she was being all nice to him too. She talking about helping plan the wedding and shit. She offered him some lemonade but he didn't want none. She fixed him some to go. When I first got there, she offered me some too. I felt like she was trying to slick kill us. We went fishing and I talked to my dad about everything. He really likes Dominic and Dominic like him too. When is the big date? We're going to see how long it takes for my dress to be ready. Hopefully it doesn't take too long. We trying to get married in 4 months. Why so soon? We just ready to make it happen. Well im happy for y'all. The wedding is going to be small, we don't want nothing too big. I'm going to have 3 bridesmaids, maybe 4. I still can't believe you getting married. I can't either but im ready. I really love Dominic and I know he loves me too. We having an engagement party next month to announce the big date. I want this party to be huge. Your parents coming? I'm sure my dad will, I highly doubt my mother come. She'll come around eventually. I wanna think she would but I know her. She might come around, you never know. I just hope she don't ruin the wedding. Try to get your dad to talk to her before then. Your dad is the only person that can get through to her. I was thinking the same thing. I just wanna make sure this day is perfect.

     We done sat here doing all this talking and I haven't tried on not one dress. I'm going to try on a few and I want your honest opinion. You know ill give it to you. I tried on the first dress, I liked it. What you think? It's a little to flowy but you look good. What kind of dress you looking for? Something nice, not too puffy, not a long train, and something with diamonds at the top. This everything you described, Hakeem said while holding a dress. I'll go try it on. The dress Hakeem picked out was perfect. It just need to be adjusted and add a few more diamonds. I think this is the dress, I said. How long would it take to get this dress ready? 6 to 7 months. That's too long, im getting married in 4 months. All of our dresses take 6 to 7 months, depending on the changes we need to make. So what you gon do? 

     I really want this dress. Take a picture of me, I said. Dominic going to call the stylist, ill see if he can make my dress look like this but in a faster time. We need to go to a floral shop. Now that im not doing with you. Fine, let's go to a tux shop. Shouldn't he be doing that? I know with work; he won't have much time to do this stuff. I don't mind doing it. I just want to get ideas and stuff. We headed to a tux shop, I was hungry as hell. I been trying to control my cravings, im trying to keep this a secret until the party. Next time I know to put some snacks in my purse. We arrived at tux shop and I was getting excited. Doing all this wedding planning was very exciting. What kind of tux you going for? That I don't know, I just want some ideas. We walked around the tux shop for 10 minutes and I wasn't getting no kind of ideas. I'll leave the tux shopping to him. Let's go get something to eat, im starving. We went to this pizza place around the corner. I think Hailey up to something, Dominic said. What you mean? She spending tons of money but she won't tell me where she got the money from. How much is it? I don't know, I just know she bought expensive stuff. Maybe if I ask, she'll tell me. I just hope she ain't do nothing crazy for that money. I'll talk to her and see if she would tell me. I'm sure she didn't do nothing crazy for that money, I said. You know she not like that. Yeah I know, I just hope she stay like that. What you think she doing? Selling drugs, selling her ass, escorting, it could be anything. I know Hailey, I know she not doing none of these things.
