Once we were at the mall, Aly and I immediately go to the witchy section of the mall. Although we need some different things, there's one shop where we'll find most, if not all the stuff we need. The Golden Apple. I know, cheesy right? When we first walked in we were disappointed to find out they didn't actually have golden apples. Witch shop named Golden Apple, who can blame us! Anyways, they have herbs, candles, different types of wood and your usual magic-producing-necessary-things such as bowls, spell books and even some cauldrons. Nothing too fancy, there are other shops for the real high quality stuff but I'm on a budget. The Golden Apple is kinda like the Walmart for witches really.
Walking through the store which is bigger than it seems from the outside, we split up to get our own stuff. I try to stay as far away from the wooden charm section of the store. Aly has tried to teach me and although I know how to handle tools and am fairly good at magic if I may say so, it ended with me, her and her kitchen covered in some weird blackish greenish goo. There was smoke too, and the charm I carved with a lot of time and effort was completely destroyed in the process. I think nature was sending a message. I just try to stay with what I know, and that's stuff that comes in handy for my work. Sure, I've tried different things but I don't know why on earth I would use spells and potions form the book 'Grimoire of Eternal Love and Happiness; 25 easy spells to get that one special guy to like you!' in my line of work. My gran gave me most of the standard spell books they have here when I turned 16 and my magic started to really show. But that's a story for another time.
''Are you Victoria Moore?'' I hear a voice behind me say. When I start to turn around, the voice says
''Don't turn around. I'm gonna assume you are miss Moore. My boss, mister Holtzclaw, has another job for you. Remember him?''
That's why that voice sounds somewhat familiar. This is probably his creepy butler guy. I better play along, this may get interesting.
''What does he want?''
''Ever heard of the Candlelight Auction? Mister Holtzclaw is the one organizing it this year and he needs you to go and make sure nothing goes south if you know what I mean.''
''I know that the Candlelight Auction is some fancy auction with both normal humans and supernatural creatures but that's about all. So should I assume your boss wants me there to prevent the humans from finding out about us or what?''
''He just wants you there. If anything goes wrong, he trusts you to follow your instincts and fix it. You'll get an invitation, expect it in the mail tomorrow. You're allowed to bring a plus one but they'll have to help you with your task. Have a good day, Miss Moore.''
With that, I hear him walking away. God what are that guy and his boss, Holtzclaw, annoying. They aren't giving me much options here so it seems like I'm going to a fancy party. Just what I needed.
A/N Sorry it took me so long to update this, but currently I'm at home because I'm ill so I'll try to write some more. And don't worry, our boys will be back soon ;)
