I woke up the next day at 9 a.m and decided to go on a run. I plugged my head phones in and off I went. I ran about 2 miles and decided to stop at a near by diner to get some coffee. I walked in and sat on the bar, “what can I get for you?” a waitress asked. “just a coffee.” I looked around this small, family owned, place; there were old pictures on the walls from when it first opened, and just a bunch of old antiques hanging up. “here ya go” she said, handing me my coffee. “thank you.” “Are you new here? I haven’t seen you around before.” she asked. “yeah, Im staying with my grandma for the summer.” “who’s your grandma? I know everyone in this town,” she asked. “Alice White” I replied. “ahh yeah Alice, she’s a good friend!…wait..I remember you! I haven’t seen you since you were about 4 years old.” she said. “my, you sure have grown.” “yeah, that tends to happen.” I said. After awkwardly chit-chatting with this waitress I finally finished my coffee and made my way back “home.”

It was around 10 o clock when I got back, alice was outside gardening. “oh, there you are! I was wondering where you’d run off to.” she said to me. “yeah I went for a run, I do that pretty often, just for further notice.” “well that Connor boy stopped by not too long ago asking for you.” “he did?” “yeah he said for you to stop by his house whenever you can.” “oh.. Well.. Do you know where he lives?” I asked. “yeah, it’s about 6 houses down, the one with the red door.” she answered. I headed into the house to shower and look presentable. I decided to keep it simple and just wear some shorts and an old band t-shirt. I’m not looking to impress him just yet. I headed down the street in search of the house with red door. bam, found it. *knock knock knock* after a few seconds an older lady answered, his mom. “oh hello destiny! It’s been years since I’ve seen you! Come on in, Connor will be down in a minute.” she said. “so how are you? How are your parents?” she asked. “I’m good, they’re good. We’re all good.” I answered. “well tell your mom I said hi the next time you talk to her, ok?” “yepp, will do.” she walked off into another room and I sat alone in their living room all awkward looking around at what was in it. A bunch of family pictures, a few sports trophies, antiques.. Your average family living room. “hey destiny.” I heard a voice say. “oh, hi Connor. My grandma say you came by earlier, what did you need?” I asked. “oh I was just wanting to see if maybe you wanted to go catch a movie at the drive-in later?” “hmm, sure.” I said with a smile. “alright, cool. I’ll pick you up around 7?” “sounds good. See ya then.”
