Chapter 6 - Meeting gone Missing

Genesis' POV

1 hour and 10 minutes.

That's how long I've been waiting here. At the rooftop. What took her so long?

I'm not pissed or anything. It's just that, I'm already anxious.

I was excited hence thrilled at the fact that I'm gonna talk to her, for the very first time. Here. But unfortunate me (haha), she decide not to show up. So I'll probably going home now.

As I descend the stairs, I'm kinda hoping, that I'm gonna bump into her, that she change her mind and decided to meet me.

But to my dismay, no shadow of her. I sighed.

I reached the last step. Then something caught my eyes.

Something round and shiny.

I picked it up.

Pearl.

Anong ginagawa nito dito?

I dont know how long I've been staring at the tiny little thing in my hand.

Then napatingin ako sa nakalock na storage room.

I suddenly felt odd. Parang may iba. Then her faced popped into my mind.

I blinked.

At dahil sa kawalan ng maisip sa kung anung gagawin sa pearl na napulot ko, ibinulsa ko na lamang ito at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad.

Nakarating ako sa room namin.

As I enter the room, sya namang paglabas ni Cherry. Nagulat kaming pareho pero in my part, saglit lang, and she doesnt have the chance para makita yun. She's still wide eyes.

Ang lalim ata ng iniisip kaya gulat na gulat talaga sya. Then kumurap-kurap siya. Recovering her senses.

" Sorry..." she whisper.

She looks distracted.

I nod once. She step forward to leave, but then she back pedaled. I dont have the chance to move from where I was.  I look at her, without any expression. I wait. She's hesitating.

" Do... " she paused. Hesitate. Then breathe.

" Do you happen to see Erza? " she looks at me wearily. Her voice sounds worried.

I felt a cold wave down to my spine.

A moment passed before I could answer.

" No. "

I said. My voice flat. And I see the dissapointment in her eyes. She uttered an "ok" and was about to leave when I spoke again.

" Why? "

She stops and give me a puzzled look. Then she started talking.

" After ng klase nyo, that's 12:30, she texted me that she'll be waiting at the library. My class was just about to start then. After 30 minutes, we were dismissed, that was already 1pm. Nagpunta kagad ako dun dahil ayoko na may mangyare pa ulet na hindi maganda kagaya kanina. Pero wala sya dun. I thought baka nag-cr o may kinuha lang so I just decided to wait. 15 minutes later wala pa din sya so hinanap ko na. I went to the comfort room, wala. Sa cafeteria, wala din. Sa locker area, wala din. So I'd go back sa library and asked the librarian. " she paused then breathe.

"Erza didnt go to the library. The librarian doesn't seen her. So my last chance is here sa room nyo, but look, she's nowhere to be found. "

We're both silent.

I started to feel nervous. Rather scared. Not for me, but for that girl.

" Did you try to call her? "

She sadly shook her head. I was about to asked why, but she started to speak again.

" She always leaves her phone in her bag. " but she grabs her phone and dialed anyway.

Not too long, we heard a vibrating sound. We both look at the back corner of the room, where the sound is coming from. Only to see Erza's bag sitting on her chair.

" See? " teary eyed na sabi ni Cherry.

Shit!

I whisper to myself.

I clenched my fist. Too hard that it started to bleed though I haven't notice.

She wipes the water forming in her eyes.

I exhaled exasperately.

" She was supposed to meet me at the rooftop. " she stares at me with wide eyes. Again. Maybe Erza doesn't told her.

" After class, I told her to meet me there. But she never showed up. 1hour had passed so I decided to go. That's when I saw you here. "

" God! Where she could have been? " napahilamos na sya ng mukha. Then she abruptly looked at me. Terrored-looking.

" What if, they're the ones behind this? " I know exactly whose she's talking about. I'm suspecting them, too.

" I think I'd better go and find them. " she's about to leave but I stop her for unknown reasons.

" Wait. " she stops and look at me, tears falling.

" Pag may nangyaring hindi maganda kay Erza, hindi ko mapapatawad ang sarili ko. "

I sighed. I shook my head a little.

" Let's just tried to find her. If we... didn't, then, we'll find them. " I need to calm her down, though I'm having a hard time doing it myself.

I snatched the handkerchief in my pocket when a small round thing falls on the floor. Cherry picks it up and I see panic in her eyes.

" W-where did you find this? "

I was surprised by her question.

Pearl?

Erza?

Then suddenly, it felt like the puzzle pieces falls into place.

I hurriedly walk out the door passed through her. I muttered " storage room " and run. I could hear Cherry behind me.

Kaya pala kakaiba ang naramdaman ko kanina nung napulot ko yun.

Kaya pala kakaiba din yung naramdaman ko nung mapatingin ako sa saradong pinto na yun.

Shit! Ang tanga ko! Bakit ngayon ko lang naisip yun?

I always seen her with that white pearl bracelet. When one of the cheerleaders accidentaly ripped it from her wrist, she picked it up one by one. When I see her first thing in the morning after that day, she's wearing that same pearl bracelet. I knew then that it's really important to her.

Well, I exactly didnt know why.

" I was the one who gives her that pearl bracelet. " Cherry said. My unspoken question, now answered.

That's explain everything.

And thanks to that pearl, I've been able to figured out where to find the girl I've been missing.
