Chapter 9:

"The story hasn't ended yet." I said to her, staring at her eyes. I take her beanie and give it to her. She smiles and about to take the beanie from my hand, "On second thought," I take the beanie again from her hand and keep it in my jacket pocket. " Let's go somewhere" I said to her and take her hand. "Where?" "you'll see."

I took her to a barbershop near Disneyland. And then we decided to shave her hair. "Are you sure about this?" Lexa asked. I answer her, "Lexa, hair is just a hair. Beside, you will still look beautiful with no hair." I said. "Aiden, I only have like 2 or 3 days left and you still trying to flirt with me?" she said jokingly. But then she finally agree. She finally shaved her hair, and wears her beanie out. She said she is not comfortable with her appearance yet. "So, what do you want to do?" I asked. "I don't know Aiden Chris, what do you want to do?" "Uhmm... let's make a bucket list." I say. "A bucket list?" "Yeah, what do you want to do the most in life?" I ask her. She is trying to think for a while. "I- uhm, I always want to try to eat chocolate lava. In a fancy restaurant" She answered. "What? Is that really the first thought that come up from your mind?" I laugh. "I am really hungry." She said.

"Here is one chocolate lava for the beautiful lady, and here is a chocolate milkshake for that lucky gentleman." The waitress says while bringing our order to the table. " Thank you" I said smiling politely. It's 9pm and we are in a fancy dessert restaurant with our low budget RV taking two cars space in the parking lot. This is quite interesting. "So, how's your chocolate lava?" "It's DELICIOUS." She said. "How is your chocolate milkshake?" she ask me. "Well, in my bucket list, I always want to order the cheapest dessert in the fanciest dessert restaurant. So, I got a regular basic original non-special milkshake. And it cost almost 10 BUCKS! What the hell?!" I said pretty loud for the people in the room to hear. "Hey! Keep your voice down" Lexa said, whisper-shouting me. And then she giggles.

We finish our dessert, paid the bills ad go to our RV. We will drive all the way to Hollywood for our second bucket list. "I LOVE RV TRAVELING." Lexa said. "So, next stop is going to be the Hollywood center." I said. We drove there for 1 and a half hour, Lexa sit next to me. but for the first 15 minutes drive, I can see that she become more weak, and weaker, and weaker every minutes. "Why don't you rest for a while, Lex?" I ask her. She looks at me with her tired eyes, "Uh, okay. That's probably a good idea. She goes to the back and sleep at the lower bunk. I keep driving until I saw the clock on the side of the RV, showing it's 12pm in the middle of the night. We finally arrived at Hollywood. My eyes are puffy and my eye bag is getting bigger. I try to find the perfect parking spot so tomorrow when she wakes up, she can see the most beautiful awesome sight that she will ever see. I know it's just a Hollywood sign, but it will make her feel so happy. And because of that, I can see the most beautiful sight that I want to see too. Her happiness.

I woke up from the chilling weather from outside. I pull my blanket tighter to my body. I look at the clock and it's 9am. It's 9am! I haven't prepared any breakfast for us. I quickly get up and take all the food that we bought yesterday before we go to Disneyland. I took the mac and cheese and heat it in the microwave. I take the sunkist juice and prepare two glass on the table. "Lexa?" I said calling for her name. She is still not answering. "LEX?" I said a little louder. Shit. "LEXA!" I ran to the bedroom door and found Lexa squirming on the bed. "Lex?!" I bow down and turn her face around. She opens her eyes. "Oh, God." I said panic and hug her tightly. "I thought-" 'What? I'm not dead yet. At least not today." She said smiling. While hugging her, I can feel her body temperature rise. "Aiden, I feel cold." She said. "Lexa, you have a fever." I said worry. "Here" I put my blanket around her body. "Thank you" "Oh! I also made you some breakfast-" "What? You did all that for me? You don't have to made me breakfast Aiden Chris. I still can make my own food you know." "But- but I made mac and cheese..." I said pretending to be sad. "Mac and cheese?? You don't say!" she said cheerfully. I bring her the breakfast and the juice. We sit on her bunk while eating together. While we are eating, she looks at me and smile. And then when she tries to grab her drink, I can see her hand shaking. "Here, let me help you." I said pouring the juice to her glass, and support her hand when she drinks because the glass is too heavy. I know she is getting weaker and weaker, and more fragile every day. And I know I'm not ready to lose her yet. "Hey, Lexa." "Hmm" she looks at me. "I want to show you something." I said to her. I get off the bunk bed and pull the side curtain up. The 'Hollywood' sign can clearly shows from the big window glass. Lexa gasp and I can see the bright in her eyes once again. I smile. "Aiden Chris. This is, this is beautiful. Thank you." Her voice started to crack and her eyes watery. But she keep smiling.
