It had been almost three months since I last talked with Andy. I had seen him a few times while he was moving his things out of the house, but he never even acknowledged I was there. The band wasn't happy with the decision he had made, but there wasn't anything they could do about it. I wanted to talk to him before they got married, but I knew Juliet was not going to allow that. Maybe that was for the best though.
Andy and I had been through everything together since we were little. Losing a best friend hurt, but growing up and moving on had to eventually happen. I was starting to come to terms with what was going to happen whether I wanted it or not. It was time for Andy to be happy and if that monster made him happy, then so be it.
"Alyssandra!"
I ran to the kitchen to see what Ashley had wanted. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead. We had decided a couple months ago to give us another try now that we're both older and a little bit more mature.
"You okay?"
The wedding date for Andy and Juliet was only three days away. Ashley knew I didn't want to go, but I promised him I would be his date.
"I'm actually okay. I've accepted that we're no longer friends. It's just going to be awkward. I haven't talked to him in a few months."
"He actually wanted me to tell you he's coming by this afternoon. I think it's time we tell him the good news for us."
Right, the good news for us. I had little butterflies in my belly and we were extremely happy.
