Falling for Tommy Shelby (Peaky Blinders fanfic)

I can defend myself.

I miss Tommy, he's been in London for a few days on 'business'. Money's his life and that's all it will ever be. Danny said he's seeing Mr.Solomons, the second biggest race track owners and gangster. Clearly Tommy has a motive.
Since I got 'attacked' he's been over protective of everybody. They paid which honestly breaks my heart because I hate death. I know how it feels to loose somebody.
Billy fucking Kimber is back in town. Him and his accountant, Ada told me that the boys are being safe within their acts to make sure they don't drive any more enemies.

She seems to be fine about Tommy and I however my feeling are becoming stronger and stronger each day. I don't want to depend on him. But I do.

My mother is home now. I feel a lot more safe with her around, living in the heart of Birmingham is scary sometimes. She doesn't know about the incident though, she wouldn't let it go. No doubt she'd have a go at Tommy which I think he'd expect and wouldn't react out of respect but he doesn't need the stress nor do I.

I'm meeting with Tommy when he's home today, if he's home today.

"Business in London okay?"

"I got what needed to be done...well done" he says smirking.
What are you up to Mr.Shelby.

"Hmm" I say and he knows I know he's hiding something.

"I missed you"I mutter because it's true.

"I missed you too..." He says kissing my neck.

"Don't distract me Tommy, I'm scheduled to meet somebody." I say to him because I know where this is going as much as I want it.

"To meet who?" He says immediately. Wow, calm down.

"Mike he's called. Business for my friend" I say.

"I'll come"

"No it's fine! I'll be okay on my own"

"You might get hurt" he mumbles.

"I know him Tommy. I can defend myself" I say to him more assertive and he instantly knows I mean it.

"I have business to deal with again in London so I'll be gone again soon" he says completely leaving the past conversation.

"Good business?" I ask and he knows what I mean. Is he going to London as a Peaky Blinders or a legit business man?

"It's all under my control. In fact I'm visiting a baker"

"Tommy the only baker you would take the time out to see in London is Alfie fucking Solomons. So it's not legitimate business is it!"

"He's joining forces, we will be better off!" He says, I cannot deal with this at the minute so I say good bye and leave to meet Mike.
