Alex's P.O.V:

It'd been two weeks since the "hurricane incident" in my dorm when John had stayed the night. One. Super. Embarrassing. Night. I never have people around during storms specifically so that they never have to see me breakdown into fractions of a coherent human. But of course the one time it happens it just had to be with Laurens. In all honesty, between the few people I'm close with, I'm glad he was the one who was there in the midst of it all. I can't control the flood of horrible memories, but having him there was much more comforting during the terrible flashbacks. He was so understanding and didn't freak out and just held me until I calmed down and- damn, I know I just saw him yesterday but I already really miss him. What's new.

Hey baby girl, wanna get together tomorrow? I think I left something at your apartment.

From: John Laurens <3
Such a flirt, but yeah, of course. Lafayette will be home around 2 if you wanna hang with us. What did you leave here?

To: John Laurens <3
My ability to resist seeing you again. I'll be there at 2 on the dot.

From: John Laurens <3
Well, Alexander, I didn't take you for such a romantic, even after a couple nights ago ;) See you then, babe.

Over the past couple weeks we've really stepped up our relationship game and were basically dating. Not officially, but we are definitely a thing. Lafayette and Hercules tease us constantly since we fell for each other so quickly, but we don't care. Love is blind, to say the least. To pass the time, I took out my laptop and began writing an essay about the current economic events. After what felt like about half and hour I glanced at the clock to see it was past midnight. Crap. I should probably get some sleep tonight if I'm seeing Laurens tomorrow. After setting my laptop on the bedside table, I went to turn off the lights and crawl back into bed. Hercules is out on the town again, so I have the room to myself. See you soon, Laurens. I rested my head against the pillow and nearly immediately fell asleep, dreaming of my hopeful future with John.

After a restless night of dreams mixed with whims, the sun finally rose high enough in the sky for it to be considered a reasonable time of the morning. 6:47 AM. The perfect time to write more papers about topics that no one else is interested in researching. I sat up in bed and retrieved my laptop, opening it to the document I'd been editing the night before. I also opened a new document titled, "My Dearest, Laurens," in which I began composing all the things I love about him. His hazel eyes that light up his surroundings to no end; the way his brown, curly hair bounces with each enthusiastic step; his everlasting ability to bring time to a halt with his mere presence. God, what wasn't my favorite attribute about John? There was nothing about him that I don't deem perfect, as he is an angel on Earth.

About an hour later, I decide to get some breakfast and actually start the day. I change into presentable clothes; jeans and a black long sleeved shirt, then throw on some shoes and head down to my favorite cafe. After 10 minutes of walking, I enter the little shop that's located near the edge of campus. It's not overly popular, but they make fantastic food and coffee. Wonderful for studying without interruptions. "Hey Alex!" Calls a voice from across the room. I look around and spot my roommate, Hercules, sitting in a booth by himself. "Hey Herc, what are you doing here?" I questioned, sliding across from him in the booth. He chuckled, "Well after you showed me this place one time, it kinda grew on me. I decided to come here and study a few stitching patterns." He replied and motioned to the fashion textbook he had on the table. Hercules was a fashion design major, against all odds.

"That is truly fascinating. I really am intrigued by butterfly stitches, they're a sincere work of art. Magnificent." I tease, "Mind if I join you, then?" He nodded, "Be my guest." Hercules had already eaten breakfast, so I ordered coffee and oatmeal with a side of fruit. "How was your night?" I asked, stirring the fruit and oatmeal together. "Pretty good. Hung out with Peggy and studied the history of the fashion industry for a bit, then Eliza and Angelica got back so we all decided to hang out." Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy were the Schuyler sisters. Angelica - the smart one, Eliza - the sweet one, and Peggy... Well, no one really knows which one she is. But she's a very nice girl from what Herc has told me. "Sounds nice." I answer, "I'm going to John's in a bit, wanna come?"

He pondered the idea, "Is Lafayette going to be there? Because I don't want to be around two lovesick puppies by myself, as cute as you guys are." He replied, smirking at my gradual blush, "Yes, Lafayette will be there." I answered between bites, finishing my breakfast. After paying the bill, Hercules and I decided to take a walk around the campus before heading to John's apartment, since we still had a few hours to kill. "You're the fashion expert here, do you think this outfit is alright?" I asked Hercules, as he observed my less than decent fashion abilities. "Actually," He started, "it's not too bad. But take my jacket, it'll change things up and make you seem more...loveable." I glanced at his jacket, "Herc, you're wearing a sweater... I never wear sweaters." He smiled, "Exactly."
