Laurens' P.O.V:
My heart began pounding in my chest. Did he just say that? Did I hear him correctly? Did Alex just say "Je t'aime" as we're cuddling in my bed!? He obviously thought I was asleep, but that was not the case, thank goodness. Lafayette had been helping me with basic French so that I could impress Alex. Needless to say that I understood what Alex said. He'd whispered that he loves me. And I'm more than happy to hear him say what I've been feeling towards him this entire time. It's a complicated feeling of newly found love with some quirks that we'll figure out later, but it is love nonetheless. My head rest on his chest where the safety of his heartbeat and embrace encapsulated me, causing an eventual cease of consciousness.

"Hey, Laurens." A voice began to drag me out of the dream I'd been in. Oh shit, that's Lafayette. "Uh, yes Laf? What do you need?" I shouted through my bedroom door, as Alex was already awake and still in bed with me. The door began open, "Hey could I borrow your-" Lafayette froze as he saw Alex and I cuddling in bed, obviously having spent the night together. "Jeez John, you sure work fast, don't you? Sorry to interrupt, I'm just gonna take your dress shoes if that's alright." He said as he awkwardly strode to the other side of the room where my closet was. I shifted a little bit away from Alexander, "Yeah, that's fine Laf, good luck with your job interview today."
"Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes." He replied, leaving my bedroom, and subsequently, the apartment. "Sorry, I didn't expect you and Lafayette to meet like that." I said apologetically to Alex, who was on the brink of laughter. Sarcastically, he replied, "No, no, that was totally fine. I'm completely used to meeting people as I'm half dressed and in someone else's bed. Happens all the time." I scooted closer and wrapped my arms around his waist, playfully smiling at him, "I hope that doesn't happen all the time, because I don't do well with sharing." We snuck a quick kiss and he whispered, "Good, because I don't want to be shared with anyone but yourself."
I leaned in and kissed him again, "No problem." I whispered, laying back down besides him. He began stroking my hair, twirling it around his fingers as he dove deep into his thoughts. "John, when are your classes today?" He finally asked. I sighed, "I have two classes today that start at 12:45 and end around 4:30, why?" He smiled, "Good, my classes are around the same time. Wanna spend the night at my place tonight?" Wow, that was fast. "Don't you live in a dorm? I can't stay the night on campus." I asked, concerned for the University rules. Alex laughed, "Oh, please. No one cares who stays in the dorms, as long as they get paid for." He looked longingly at me, pleading with his eyes, "Please, John."
"I don't know, Alex... You could always just stay here again." I cautioned. He moved closer to me, our foreheads touching, "John. Please. I can't stand missing you all night." He desperately said, finally causing me to agree with him. "Alright Alex, but if we get caught, I'm blaming you." He sat up and threw his fist in the air, "Yes! Don't worry John, my roommate will be with his girlfriend all night anyways." I rolled my eyes, "Whatever. You're just lucky I love you." I gasped as I realized what had come out of my mouth before thinking about it. Alex stared at me, purely shocked, "Laurens, d-did you just say that you love me?"
"I- uh, it's a form of expression..." I stuttered an excuse, my cheeks turning a bright, rosy shade of pink, "You know, I just meant that, um-" Alex cut me off by wrapping his arm around my waist and roughly kissing me, "I love you too, John." He grinned from ear to ear, happiness filled his sparkling eyes. I chuckled, "Yeah, I heard you last night when I was drifting asleep. 'Je t'aime' " I quoted him. "Oh, " now Alex's cheeks began turning bright colors, "you heard that? I didn't mean to cause you any worry, it just felt right at that moment and I thought you couldn't hear me and-" I cut him off with an Alex-esque kiss to stop him mid-sentence. "Shh, talk less." I whispered, merely inches away from his lips.
He silently complied to my request and continued our kissing session, similar the one from the following evening. Eventually I noticed the clock, "Shit, Alex, it's almost noon." He shot up and glared at the clock that was on the bedside table, "How the hell did we sleep in so long?" I giggled, "I don't know. But I wouldn't have spent it any other way." He smiled at this notion, "I definitely agree, my Dear Laurens. Unfortunately for us, classes start in less than an hour and we've got to get dressed and down to the campus." He said as he rushed out of bed to get dressed. "Fine, I guess no more affection for you." I teased as I crawled out of bed.
Alex shot me a determined glare, "I dare you to try and keep your hands off of me." he challenged. "Not a problem." I replied, with what little stubbornness I had. After we finished getting ready for the day, we headed out the door and made our way towards the bus stop. "Give up yet?" Alex asked as we climbed onto the bus that would take us to the University. I slyly smiled at him, "Of course not. You?" The flame in his eyes flickered a bit, deciding his fate, "...no, course not..." he hesitantly replied, looking out the window to avoid my gaze.
We finally arrived at the campus and stepped off the bus together, walking towards our destinations, which happened to be in complete opposite directions. "One last chance, Laurens." He said, encouraging me to give into his deal. "You know, I thought you'd be the first to break." I remarked, testing his confidence. He stepped closer and pecked my cheek, "I guess I was... Totally worth it." He whispered, before turning to leave for his class. I quickly grabbed his arm to avoid him leaving so soon, pulling him into an eternal hug. "I'll see you this evening." I announced, almost pained to say a temporary farewell. He quickly kissed my forehead and smiled, "I'll see you then."
