I looked at the pills in my hands, spinning them over and over, deciding whether or not to take them. I rest them on the window sill, unclothed myself and stepped into the shower. I turned on the shower, running the water over my face, washing away the memories of the day that threaten to overtake my mind.
Thirty five minutes later I stepped out of the shower, having used most of those minutes to overthink my situation. I wrapped the towel around me and plopped down on the bed, staring into the ceiling, running over the events of the day in my head.
"Meliiiissa!" I screamed, dashing down the hallway and into the kitchen. Only to see a humanly looking beast, with tentacles emitting from its back, piercing into Melissa's body, hanging upside down. The looked of defeat tattooed on her face had my heart racing with anger as I dashed forward, thumping wildly at the beast that so callously took my sister's life.
It effortlessly dodged my attacks anddragged its tentacle out Melissa's body. I rushed forward, yelling and screaming and thumping wildly at the beast that ended up behind me in a split second and was digging its tentacle into my arm.
I bit my lip, holding in back the tears that so desperately wanted to be shed. It jabbed its tentacles into both my arms, driving me to the edge. My head hung low as sweat poured down my skin. The beast used one of its tentacles to raise my head to face it. I squeezed my eyes shut, forcing myself to not look at the thing that so carelessly took my sister's life. It swung its tentacle as far back as possible and jabbed it in my stomach. I let out a ear piercing, dead raising scream as I choked on blood.
I jumped up, shaking violently. My bed was soaked from a combination of sweat and pee. I looked around in the dark room wildly, and cowered into the top corner of the bed, bringing my knees to my chest, resting my chin on it. I stared out into the darkness and rocked myself, as I wiped away the pouring sweat, shivering uncontrollably with fear and worry.
I haven't had a nightmare in more than a decade, so why attack me now? I scrambled weakly out of bed and dragged myself into the bathroom, taking up the pills from the windowsill. I sat on the ground, turning over the pills in my palm, pondering whether or not to take them. Then a thought from today hit me 'Meet us here.'
I returned the pills to the window sill, leaned over the face basin, and pushed two of my fingers down my throat, trying to bring up the little I had taken into my digestive system. I coughed as a bitter burning sensation filled my throat and I instantly removed my finger, slumping on the ground. I coughed again, repeating the process as I coughed up my insides. I searched through my excretes and found the paper I had been given today at the hospital. I wiped off the waste and unfolded the paper, reading the address written down.
I rushed back to my room and dragged on the first thing I saw in my drawer, washed my face, grabbed my weapons and devices just in case, and dashed out the door, not forgetting to take up the pills, though I doubt I'll need them. I got out the building, leapt forward and broke the metal baton apart, revealing a light motorcycle, and jumped on it, entering the address while turning on auto drive. As the motorcycle transported me to my destination, I wondered what was in store for me. Who were these people? Is it possible they can answer my unanswered questions.
As I neared my destination, I slowed down the bike, turned it off, and grabbed the baton from the ground, walking the rest of the way, following the GPS on my watch. I looked up to see a dilapidated building, which I figure was the meeting place as it was the only thing around here. I surveyed the area as a cold breeze blew and I hugged myself and pushed forward. I stopped in my tracks as I saw a figure retreat into the darkness.
I became more aware of my surroundings and looked around, noticing a few retreating figures from the four corners, and some others closing in on me. I spun wildly and shut my eyes, counting to ten, bracing myself for attacks.
"You came!" a voice yelped, squeezing me between their arms, into a hug.
I flinched uncomfortably and she let me go. I looked her over and she looked up at me with bright beaming eyes of two different colours. The most of it white and the coloured part dark brown. Her skin was the same shade of brown as her eyes and her hair was tall and dark as the devil's soul. I looked her over in awe and tried to remember where I had seen that same look before. My breath hitched and I stared into oblivion as the recognition hit me hard. Melissa. Me. That's our skin tone in my dream!
I shook my head, trying to evade my thought, trying to escape the new revelation. Trying to not look at this petite bright eyed girl who beamed with radiance. As I was about to break, the same lady from today stepped out from the darkness, "Hello, Laina."
I looked up at her, dumbfounded. That name struck somewhere in my mind, but nothing came up yet. I've got too much surprise to deal with within one day. It's not possible for me to get any more surprises.
"Come with me," she commanded, my legs submitting without consulting my mind.
