I crashed into bed at around midnight AGAIN, running over the night's events in my mind. Wondering and pondering about the difference with the little girl's skin, eyes and hair, and how they were so similar to those in my dream. On many occasions during the night, I was tempted to just take the pill and go on as if nothing happened, but I wanted to know more. I didn't want to escape. Not this time.
They didn't tell me much though. Except to be careful, and they continued to talk in their codes as if I weren't there. So for most of the meeting I was looking and trying to relate to some of the faces that I feel are so familiar in my mind but they are just mere flashes, so I still can't figure out who they are.
I heard incessant knocks on my door and I lazily dragged myself up, to go to answer it. As I step into the doorway between my bedroom and the living room, a hand clasp over my mouth. I bit wildly at their palm, sinking my teeth deeply in. They came up to my ear and whispered, "Don't answer. You're in danger."
The voice sounded awefully familiar and I spun around angrily, facing the jerk who had made me fainted some days ago causing Navra to die.
"You jerk," I whisper shouted, shoving him in the chest. "Why'd you disappear on me like that and make me think I was crazy?" I gritted.
He looked down on me and said, "Pack your things. We're leaving." I looked up at him with knitted brows, folded arms, and leant against the wall. Like who the hell does he think he is! He rolled his eyes at me and barked low enough so just the both of us could hear, "They are going to tear the door down any minute."
"Fine by me," I told him callously. "As far as I see it, you're the intruder."
His fists clenched as he bit down on his lip hard and he narrowed his eyes. "You are as stubborn as you've always been A..."
I raised my finger, pressing it hard against his lip, "Don't call me that," I spat. The banging against the door faded and I figured they were going to kick it in. "If you know what's best for you, hide!" I warned as I walked towards the door, to rescue it from their cruel plan towards it.
I rubbed my eyes groggily and covered my mouth, letting out incessant yawns, faking sleep. I opened the door and my face is just inches away from my coworker, Ervick's raised foot. "Yes?" I demanded through yawns.
"Come with us," he ordered. What? Who made him boss?!
"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked, dropping the fake sleep. I was the one who went and got people out of their beds, not the other way around.
He grabbed on to my hand and dragged me outside, "I mean come with us!" he ordered.
I shrugged my hand out of his and looked at him questioningly. His eyes were void of any emotion whatsoever. They were so hardened, I doubt that even if I had the power of compulsion, I couldn't make him do what I wanted. I looked around and counted the number of guards and decided that they were too much for me alone to handle so I succumbed and went with them, glancing back, hoping that that stupid guy had listened to me and had hidden well.
