"Alex. I'm going to say this in the nicest way possible. You're crazy!" Charlotte screams. Griffin looks like he's about to faint. "Come on! It's a good experiment! Sir said that anything can be science, as long as it has a hypothesis, plus this is phycology! That's a science!" Griffen looks at me skeptically. "You can do my make over!" I say. He perks up. "I'm in" he says dead serious. He looks at Charlotte pleadingly.
She rolls her eyes. "Fine! But... We will need some more help" she walk up and points at Cassie's room. I nod my head."Cassie. Can I come in?"
The door swings open. "May I help you?" She asks sarcastically. "Yes, and lots of it" says Griffen. I show Griffen my hurt face and put my hand up to my chest sarcastically. "Honey, we need a miracle worker to fix this into something like amber, and she's the closest thing we got!" Cassie's always liked him, mainly be aside she can ask him about almost anything! Almost... "Okay... What do you need?" She says with a smile. "We need to find this girl right here, some make up" he says gesturing to me. Her eyes widen. "Mom! Alex is taking me shopping!" She calls. "Well that's a first! I'll give you some money!" We walk down the stairs and our mother hands us some money. "No. Mom I can't take this! I'll just use the money I've saved up" I say. She presses the money on my hands and kisses my head.I find a parking right next to the entrance to the shopping center. "First things first. We need to get you more makeup. And before you ask. Nothing that looks gothic" says Cassie. "Right now, I know nothing so. I'm gonna listen to you" I say. Cassie ends up finding me foundation, concealer and a lot of which I have no idea what it is. As we walk, I walk towards Hot Topic and get pulled away by Griffen and Charlotte. She shoves me into a clothing store. I didn't have enough time to even see the name. They march me to the dressing room and pass more and more clothes through the curtains. The music choice is absolutely terrible. 'Worth it' starts playing and I swear I actually gag. "Hang in there Alex! We... Are nowhere near finished" Griffen says, trying to be re assuring. They hand me some dark as well as bright clothes. I walk out from behind the curtain in the dark blue, skin tight dress they handed me. I look in the mirror. The dress was knee length, with a sweetheart neckline. And overlapping the tight material, from the waist down, were layers of intricate lace. Overall it wasn't bad, but I just wasn't me.
I were converse, jeans hoodies, things that I'm comfortable in. This just wasn't me, and only now I'm realizing how hard it's going to be to keep this up.
"Damn girl! I didn't know you had curves like that!" Griffin says, impressed. I look over and Cassie is staring at me with an open mouth, as well as Charlotte. Griffen takes out a camera. "For the project!" He says while taking the picture. "That is a definite!" Says Cassie after a long silence. "Now... Go and try on every thing else!" She says excitedly. I groan as I slump back to change outfits.I come out of the shop carrying at least three shopping bags the size of Cassie, Charlotte and Griffen carrying three boxes of shoes, each, and Cassie talking on her phone behind us. "Good news! If we go drop the bags in the car, I can get Alex to her hair appointment! So let's hurry up!"
Charlotte and Griffen take all the shopping bags to the car as Cassie rushes me to the hairdresser. "Cassie! Who is this young lady you have with you today?" A woman with long curly blonde hair asks my sister. Cassie gives her a hug. "Melissa, this is my older sister. You said you could fit her on now?"
She kindly nods and leads us to the basins. "I love your hair!" She tells me. "Thanks"
"What style do you want your hair?"
"What?"
"You know, do you want it layered, half shaved, or what all the kids want these days, the scene fringe?"
"I'll try layered"
"Good choice!" She says laughing."Okay... So here is the finished look" she tells me, turning the chair so I face the mirror. My hair, now around mid torso, was cut at different lengths. "Thank you! It looks amazing!" Says Cassie. All I can do is gawk at my 'new' hair, maybe not all change is going to be bad. Griffen takes a picture. "Wow" Char says, looking at me.
"You look hot!"
We all laugh together,
It was a surprisingly fun day.
