Wednesday night
-please tell me if there are any grammar errors-"Now that the shopping is done... You need to learn how to use all this makeup" Cassie says, gesturing to my bed, with piles of makeup.
"I can't get out of this, can I?" I ask. She shakes her head and laughs. I head over to the small vanity table with some of the makeup."How are you so good at this?" I ask her.
"I have my reasons, now shush and let me finish" she replies. I pull away from her. "Cassie, you never used to like makeup until recently. What's changed?"
"Alex, it's natural for me to grow up. I like make up. That's it"
"Okay." She nods her head.
She jerks when the phone rings. I run to answer. "Char? What up?"
"Why don't we put all those clothes to use?"
"What do you have in mind?"
"There's a party, and guess whose there"
"Ethan?"
"Yes! Now get ready, I'm on my way!" The line goes dead. I turn to Cassie. "You think you can get me ready for a party tonight?" She jumps up and down and nods her head. "Yes! Now let me finish your make up"+++
"Dude! What's wrong? Tonight's meant to be fun! You're normally happy!" Says, my drunken friend, Jake. "First off, since when have you called me 'dude'? Second, We have practice tomorrow, and I don't want to get suspended from the team"
Jake shakes his head and walks away.
Third reason, I feel bad about what we did to Alex. I slump against the wall and sigh, out of nowhere someone bumps into me. I look up from my drink, only to see Alex, except it wasn't her. The girl who wore beanies and eyeliner, the girl who listens to Fall Out Boy, has disappeared. Her long hair, in delicate waves framing her face. She was wearing shorts and a top that revealed her belly, the smart girl who knew better. "Alex?" I say in pure astonishment.
"Yes?"
"What on earth happened to you?"
"Nothing, just came here to have fun. You know, schools almost over, and I want to make the most of it"
"By dressing like Amber?" She looks at me with anger in her eyes.
"Don't you dare compare me, when you know nothing about me" She says, her voice deadly. She spins on her heels and walks away, still stunned by the fact that she wasn't herself, as she was walking, people started to ogle after her. "Ethan! I've been looking for you all night!" Amber says, walking ungracefully towards me. The smell of alcohol and perfume radiating off her. I'm not able to stand the smell, or her, I run to get a bottle of water. The inside of the house is empty, everyone seems to be by the small pool and booze. I can't stand to be at this party anymore. As I walk out to my car, I see multiple couples making out against the cars. Just infront of me is Alex. "Sorry about that outburst back there, I just." A moment of silence. "Don't like being compared?" I offer, she nods her head and laughs. "Arn't you dating Amber?"
"Not willingly"
"What do you mean by 'not willingly'? It's your life! Who's telling you, you have to date her?"
"My friends"
"Screw them!"
"Have you seen them? Who would want to screw assholes?"
"Amber seems to be screwing one at the moment" she says, anger beaming behind her eyes. She grabs her keys from her small bag and drives away.
I see amber by the pool dancing, she not doing anything besides dancing.
Oh shit.
She meant me.
