Monday Night

-please tell me if there are any grammar errors-

As we walk into the party, people make way for us. Well, making way for me.
I did break someone's nose the last time at a party, they probably don't want that to happen to them either.
As soon as I'm on the dance floor no one notices me.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see someone flirting with Charlotte. I could only see his back, he had short blonde hair and was tall. He was leaning against a wall, towering over Charlotte, I give Charlotte a thumbs up, she sees me and smiles. I see she quickly moves her hand in front of her mouth and she's laughing, he must've said something funny.
I look for Griffen and I see he's talking to some cheerleaders, they seem engrossed in a conversation, the girls seem to be having a great time wth him.
I go to the bar to get a drink, nothing with alcohol, after all I am the designated driver. I grab a bottle of water and down it. I walk over to the dance floor and start to dance, all of a sudden, it's silent, the music stops, the people stop jumping, the only thing to be heard was a couple arguing. In the middle of the hall, Ethan and Amber are mid argument, none noticing the silence around them. The argument is muffled by the people going 'ohhh' and debating about what the argument is about.
"I'm breaking up with you! Do you understand?" I hear Ethan yell.
"Fine, goodbye bitch!" Amber pushes through the crowd and walks to her car, I run after her. Even if she is the biggest bitch in the world, I want to know if she's okay, couldn't have been nice for a public breakup like that. I see her car, through he tinted window I can see she's... crying? I walk and knock on her window, she rolls down and gives me a death stare, "What do you want? Here to brag?"
Seeing my confused look she laughs. "You seriously don't see it do you?"
Without me saying anything she continues. "He's breaking up with me cause he likes you, how on earth could you be that blind?"
"First off, rude. Second, I jut came to see if you're okay. Do you want to talk about it or...?"
She nods her head. "You're drunk, so I'll drive" I say as she climbs to the passenger seat. I text Char telling her where I'm going, before driving off the the local coffee shop.

"Why are you being nice to me? I've been nothing but a bitch to you, so do tell" she slurs. "People change, and I don't think it's too pleasant to have a public breakup"
She laughs through tears.
"You're right on that, but I still don't get why you changed everything about you, even your hair is different for gods sake!" She exclaims.
"I wanted a change, wanted to see what it was like being 'popular'" I say using air quotes around popular.
"I don't see why, everyone liked you before this, now I just hear gossip about random shit that, no offense, I doubt is true"
I raise an eyebrow.
"Like how everyone wants to sleep with you and shit, it's kinda sad that they have nothing else to do in their lives besides gossip"
"Don't you gossip a lot?" I ask.
"God no! I'm against that, don't speak until you know the truth, and if it's not good, let the person it happened to say it. If they don't want people to know about it, they will try not to talk about it"
I'm stunned. I never thought a girl like her would hate that so much.
"You know you're not as bad as people say, Amber"
"And you're not as scary as you think, Alex"
Over the span of thirty minutes, I found out so much about Amber, it's so sad seeing what people say about her when none of it is true. I used to think she didn't have a smart cell in her body, now I'm finding out that she's in scholarship, and has been accepted to Sydney University for a medical degree.
"I need to get back to the party cause my cars there, do you mind if we go back?" I ask. She shrugs.
"Sure why not, heard there's a new guy in the grade, maybe he's at the party"
I laugh, as we drive back to the party discussing favorite TV shows.

Amber was right there is a new guy, I find Char, still talking to the same dude, "hey guys sorry to interrupt but do have any clue who the new guy is?"
I say pointing to the dude in the leather jacket, I miss my leather jacket,
"No clue, but he looks scary"
"Char have you been drinking by any chance?"
"No, now go get your self a drink, you look like you need it, I'll be the DD tonight" I thank her as I walk to the bar, the alcohol stinging the back of my throat, people dancing, some innocent others grinding. I can smell alcohol on every single body here.
Griffen still taking to the girls, and a few guys joined in on the conversation. I'm so happy he some new friends... I hope.
The guy in the leather jacket seemed to have moved closer.
"Hi" he says.
"Hey"
"What's your name? I'm Jayden"
"Alex" I reply.
"You're new to be school, right?"
I ask, he nods. "Cool"
I slam back another shot and I walk away from the bar, slightly dizzy.
"Char. Home. Drunk. Sick" I say not wanting to talk too much.
"Not right now, one more hour!" She exclaims as she walks outside with the same blonde dude. Crap.
"Hey you okay?" I turn around and see Jayden.
"Not really, my DD just bailed, so I'm stuck here. Crap!" I exclaim. I got drunk way to fast.
"Look I know we just met, but do you want a lift home?" He asks. I nod.
"Sure why not, your not going to do anything bad, right?" I ask.
He chuckles. "Nah, no need to worry"
He walks me outside making sure I don't fall, thank go I'm not one of those 'baby drunks' that sound like they belong back in first grade. He leads me to his motorbike.
"Holy shit! Is that a Triumph Daytona 955i?" I say pointing to the black bike, he raises his eyebrows at me.
"Yeah, it's cool, right?"
"I've been saving up for years to get one, every year they just keep coming out with better ones and they are double the price, so I'm never gonna get one but, a girl could dream" I sigh.
He's laughing to himself.
"What?"
"It's nothing, just. Not the type I imagined to be into bikes"
I'm offended for a couple seconds then I realized what I was wearing, high heels and bikes are anything but a good combo when driving, but I'm not driving.
I smile as I grab the helmet he's holding, "What about you?" I ask.
He just shrugs. "No need to worry".
"You say that a lot, in starting to think differently" I say playfully.
He gets on he bike as I climb behind him. I put my arms around his waist to keep from falling off.
"You ready?" He calls over the loud hum of he engine.
"Hell ya!" We launch into the roads, as we zoom down the streets, everything a blur, the streetlights pointing out the small details on the side walk. We pull up into my drive way, it felt like seconds. I take off my helmet as hand it to him.
"Thanks for the ride, I owe you" I say as I turn my back and walk to the front door. "No problem" he calls after me, I turn to him reversing out of the driveway, the helmet I used, he's now wearing. I wave goodbye as I walk inside. No school for the next three days, great time to catch up on the, not-even-close-too-finished science project, and I could also practice my lines for English, since the presentation is the day I get back.
