Birthday (EreMika)

"Where is it? Where is it?!"

Mikasa woke up to the sound of her roommate, Sasha, rummaging through her things at two in the morning.

"What are you doing?" Mikasa groaned, feeling annoyed. I mean, who wouldn't be at 2 o'clock in the morning?

"I'm looking for my snacks. They're gone!" Sasha continued to mourn for her lost snacks, even when Mikasa gave her a good smack to the head and went into the bathroom to get ready. Mikasa checked her phone over and over while she brushed her teeth. She was expecting many messages from her friends. Especially Eren. But nobody greeted her on her special day.

It's her birthday today.

She allowed her mind to wander as she shed her clothes and stepped into the shower. Why hasn't Eren called her yet? Or texted her?

They were talking about her birthday yesterday. So why hasn't her greeted her yet?!

She wrapped a towel around her body and stepped into her and Sasha's room. She looked for her friend.

Huh. I guess she already left.

She got dressed and walked out of the room.

"Morning, Mikasa!" Mikasa turns to see Armin leaning against the wall, holding a book. He walks alongside Mikasa as they make their way to school.

"Have you seen Eren today?" Armin asks.

Mikasa shakes her head. "No. Why?"

"Oh nothing. Just curious." Armin reaches for his book again and reads while walking. They enter the school and they both go to their classes. Mikasa looked around all day for Eren, but she couldn't spot him anywhere. As she walked home by herself, she felt her phone buzz in her pocket. Her face lightens up as she reaches for it and checks her phone.

From: Eren
To: Mikasa

Yo! Could you stop by my house? I need to give you something.

Mikasa's heart jumped. The black haired girl quickly replied.

From: Mikasa
To: Eren

Okay.

Mikasa quickly runs to his house, which happens to be really close to hers. She unlocks Eren's door with the spare key he gave her and stepped into the living room.

"Hello? Eren? Anyone?!" She roamed the house, but nobody was around.

"Where is that stupid guy?" She let out a sigh as she looked at the only spot she hasn't checked yet, Eren's backyard.

The moment she opened the glass sliding door, she heard many voices saying, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKASA!".

She was surprised to see all her friends. They prepared a surprise party for her. She felt a big grin slowly appearing on her face.

"You did all of this for me?"

They nodded. "Eren is the one who suggested this." Armin said. Mikasa searched for Eren, but he was nowhere to be found.

"By the way, where's Eren?" She frowned. This would be perfect if he was here. They all smirked as if they knew something she didn't.

"Come on, guys. Let's PARTY!" Connie yelled.

So, the party started. Everyone greeted Mikasa. She received many gifts and cards from everyone. Finally, it was time for the cake.

They bought her a big vanilla cake, her favorite. Jean lit the candles. Everyone sang the birthday song to the birthday girl.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!"

She stood there for a while, even though the song already ended. Everyone was puzzled.

"Make a wish, Mikasa!" Christa said.

Mikasa snapped out of it and closed her eyes.

I wish Eren was here.

She blew out the candles and everyone cheered. She cut the cake and everyone ate it. After eating, she proceeded to opening her presents. She loved all the gifts, but she wasn't satisfied. She wanted Eren to be with her.

"Thank you, guys! I'm truly grateful. Thanks for the gifts." Mikasa thanked them.

"You still have one gift left." Armin gestured to a VERY big box that sat at the corner of the backyard. Mikasa's eyes widened. It was so big, yet she never even noticed it.

She walked toward the box and slowly opened it. She saw everyone take out their phones and start recording a video.

When she opened the box, she was shocked to see Eren pop out.

"E-E-Eren?!"

The man himself gave her a dazzling smile.

"Do you like your gift?" She looked inside the box, not knowing what the gift is.

"I don't see any gift." She replied.

Eren's eyes lit up. "I'm your gift."

She blushed. Did he find out about her crush on him?

"Huh?!" She said, confused.

He sighed. "Don't you get it? I'm yours. You can have me." Then, an evil smirk showed up on his face.

"Come here." He motioned for Mikasa to come closer. She inched forward until they were breathing the same air.

"Happy birthday!"

Eren leaned forward, wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed Mikasa.

This is the best birthday ever.
