"Should we dock?" I asked. Laurence shrugged. "This isn't the place," Lucinda said, frustrated. She pulled out her map and started scanning it. "This makes no sense. We stayed on track almost perfectly!" she exclaimed. "Should we go look around and see if there's anyone, or anything, here?" Laurence asked. "We can, but I highly doubt that anyone's going to be here." Lucinda said. Lucinda made another bridge to land, Laurence put the anchor down, and I scanned the land mass for any signs of life. We hopped onto the bridge and walked across the land. I stepped into the deep snow, my feet sinking at least six inches. I took a few steps across the land. There was a forest about ten yards into the land with scattered trees. Occasionally you see a blur azure flower or a violet. I walked through the spruce forest, wandering slowly away from the group. I should've taken a coat with me, if we even have any. I decided to make checkpoints so I didn't get lost. Who knew how big this island really is. I pulled a small red flag out of my backpack, and stuck it in the snow. While doing so, I heard some rustling in the bushes. I thought that it was just an animal, I so I went back to making sure that the flag wouldn't go anywhere. But then I heard I again, from a different bush this time. And it was getting closer. "Who's there?" I called, raising my voice a bit. I shrugged it off, and began to turn away. But as I did that, something I couldn't quite make out jumped out of the bushes at me. It was... a human?! He knocked me to the ground, and held his blood red sword to my neck. He wasn't a shadow knight, though, odd. The man had snow white hair, which was funny, because we were in the middle of what seemed like a tundra. He had emerald green eyes, not quite dark enough to match. The trees. He was wearing a leather hunting jacket, and brown pants. "WHAT DO YOU WANT THIS TIME?!" he yelled at me. "What-" I began. "I"M NOT FALLING FOR THESE TRICKS ANY MORE! YOUR AN IDIOT FOR CAMPING HERE FOR SO LONG!" he went on. "Wait! I'm not who you think I am!" I said. "You even managed to get a voice right! Well, too bad. I made a potion to lock you in this area. Your not getting away this time!" he smirked, bringing down his voice volume a few notches. "I'M NOT THE DEMON WARLOCK!" I screamed at him, irritated a bit. "Oh, really? Who are you and where are you from?" he asked me, skeptical. "My name is Aphmau, and I'm from the Ru'an region!" I explained quickly. "Me and my group got caught up in a storm, and we ended up here! We're looking for a way off the island." "Hm... Well, do you want to show me to your little 'group'?" he asked. "Yeah, actually. Can you let me up? Geeze." I said. He cautiously took his sword off my neck, letting me up. "Name?" I asked him. "Travis," he said. I nodded. I led him out of the forest, and along the shoreline to our boat. "You sure I can trust you?" I asked him, on the way, without looking behind myself to him. "Funny, I should be asking you the same thing." he commented. I rolled my eyes and continued walking. Soon, we approached out boat. "APHMAU!" Laurence called from the boat. "WE'VE BEEN LOOKING ALL OVER FOR YOU! WHERE DID YOU GO-" he stopped yelling when he saw Travis behind me. "Did... Did you take her?! Who do you think you are?!" he yelled at him. "Laurence, it's not that simple, it's fine. He's good... I think," I explained. Laurence stared at Travis for a good minute, and then looked back at me. "So, why is he here, then? It doesn't look like anyone can really live here," he asked. "Well, she needed to prove to me that she wasn't the Demon Warlock, and I do live here." Travis said. "What's the Demon Warlock?" Laurence asked. I just realized that I had known what it was... how did I know that? Well, when I was younger my dad told me stories of an island with a demon warlock, but I wasn't sure if this was it. I could be, though... But how did I know that that was what he thought I was? It didn't matter now, and it probably won't anytime soon, either. All that mattered is that we needed to get to our actual island. "We need to get going, we didn't come here on purpose." Lucinda said. She had walked up behind Laurence. "Who's this?" she asked, looking at Travis. "I'm Travis, I live here. I kind of want to get away from here, though." he explained. She raised her eyebrows, still looking at him. "And... You can't get off this island easily..." he said slowly. "What's that supposed to mean?" Laurence asked. "Exactly what it sounds like, that's what." he said. "There isn't an easy way off of the island. You can't just sail off and be on your way," he continued. "There is a curse over the seas surrounding this island. It was meant to protect it, but it also traps people here. There is a way to get off, but... it's not easy in any way." he explained to us. "What- does that mean we're stuck here?!" Lucinda raised her voice at Travis, coming closer to him. "Lucinda, this isn't his fau-" I started. "Travis, how do we get off?" she asked. "It's hard-" he began. "How?" she asked again. "You have to kill the Demon Warlock."
