You See Me- Now You Don't

We cautiously walked through and around every spike of ice as the feeling got more intense. Eventually, we came to one spike that was slightly larger than all the others. The uneasy feeling was at its worse right now, and I knew that this was it. This had to be it. I put up my hand as a signal for the others behind me to stop. We then started moving again, but more slowly, and more light-footed, even though whatever or whoever this feeling is coming from probably already knows we're here. We at first saw around five silhouettes standing in front of a short, aged wooden door with rusted metal handles. One of them turned around, and I could barely make out their face. It was a young woman with hair that matched the snow on the ground. She was wearing a black jacket, but not a heavy one. Under it was a dark gray shirt, and she was wearing black leggings. Her eyes were purple, strangely gleaming in the dim light of the cloudy sky. "Look who we have here, boys! Get them." she commanded them. She slipped away behind the others, and soon I couldn't make her out. The rest turned around towards us, and drew their swords. I drew mine as well, as did Laurence and Travis. Lucinda got her staff from behind her back. A quick flash appeared and four more appeared. That meant two for each of us to handle if they went at us equally, which they did. Lucinda made the first move and made half the shadow knights' swords disappear. That defiantly made it easier for us, since none of us were trained in duel swords. Right after that, they came at us, sprinting. I clashed with one of the knights, our swords pressing against each other. We were less than a foot away from each other, and I was staring right into the eye of a shadow knight. We stood there for a moment, and when I figured he wouldn't expect it, I kicked him in the chest, and then slid across a sheet of ice between us and knocked him down by pulling my arms forward from behind his knees. I didn't want to kill them, even though they were a threat, so I made a gash in both of his legs so that he was disabled. As soon as I turned around I was in combat with another one of them, but this one was different. He had dark blue eyes instead of red, and black hair. Even though he appeared to be his normal self, the red particles surrounded him. I tried kicking him in the chest, but he dodged. This one would be harder to beat. He was one of the ones who's sword disappeared, so he came running at me. I used his strength and acceleration against him by leading him into a field of ice not far from where we were. He fell over on his face, but tried to quickly get up. I took the handle of my sword and tried swinging it at his head to knock him out, but he caught it with his hand. Then he twisted the sword, and my hand, and I tried not to cry out in pain. I twisted the rest of my body so that I was in a less painful position, and the shadow knight used that to put me into a solid head-lock. My arms went to his, and I tried to pull him off, but his grip had already gotten too tight. I had to use his strength against him again. This was probably the key with this person. I bent my arms, and a stabbed him with my elbows. His grip loosened, but he didn't let go. I used a trick that I normally wouldn't use in fighting, but it worked for me. My nails were long, so I pressed them hard into his arms, and that finished him off. He let go, and I kicked as hard as I could into his chest and knees, and he was knocked down. After that, I ran over to my sword that had flown out of my hands, and carried it back to that person I had just knocked down. I did the same thing I did to the last person to the second one. I look to the side and I see that Lucinda was still fighting one, and she was blocking his hits with her staff. She doesn't have any time between strikes from the shadow knight to use a spell against him. I run up behind the shadow knight attacking her, as punch him as hard as I can twice on his head, then kicked him down. I then made two gashed behind his knees and knocked him out. I saw Laurence was struggling fighting off three shadow knights, but then I realized that they weren't fighting him, they were trying to hold him firmly with their arms linked. He fought himself out time after time, but kept being caught again in their grasp. This happened several times, as I ran over to help, but when the third knight grabbed his shoulders, a flash came, and when it ended, they had vanished. I ran even faster to the spot they were in. "LAURENCE!" I collapsed onto the cold ground and cried. He was gone. It occurred to me then why they had taken him away: they were going to try to complete his shadow knight transformation.
