Eve.

Since the incident in the bathroom earlier Kayla hadnt really bothered with me. As i glanced over at her hesitantly now at where she was sitting in the front of the classroom she turned around and gave me one of those fake smiles. I knew that i was in for it later. Why? Im not sure. In all honesty ive never known why she despised me so much and im not sure if I ever will.

I looked down quickly as if i had never even glanced her way, I could hear her and the others sniggering all the same. I couldn't wait for this fucking day to end.

Seeing as it was a Friday I'd thanking be staying at Amy's house. I had my bag in Amy's locker so that Kayla couldn't get her hands on it. Suddenly the bell signally the end of class rung, disturbing me from my thoughts.

Shit, I thought. SPHE is next class. "You okay?" Amy asked standing up next to me. I nodded and felt her squeeze my hand reassuringly. I smiled at her, "Lets go."

We made our way out of the Maths classroom and out into the hall. The SPHE classroom was directly above the maths classroom so it didnt take too long to get there. As soon as we walked in the door I made sure to pull my sleeves down over my hands so that there was (hopefully) no chance of the teacher seeing my scars and cuts. I didn't mind the bruises as much, because as far as the teachers knew I was one of the most klutziest people they had ever seen. Even still I had to be extra careful with Mr. Ryan. He had told us that he had been bullied when he was younger and that if he thought that anyone was experiencing problems that he would approach them.

"Come in, come in," he said upon seeing our class standing outside his door. We all walked in and took our seats quickly. "4D?" He asked refering to our class. Some of the lads sniggered, I just rolled my eyes. "4B," someone said correcting him. "Okay then," he said and begun to call the role. "Evelyn Brookes?" "Here," I said quietly. I hated being first in the role. I caused everyone to look at me. I really did not like that.

Mr. Ryan continued with the role. "Amelia Kelly," he said. I elbowed Amy, who as usual wasnt paying attention. "What?" Amy said almost jumping out of her seat. "Oh here sir." I heard people sniggering as Amy's face went red.

When Mr. Ryan had finished the role he stood up and walked over to the white board. "Before I begin this class, have any of you had the chance to speak with your new year member in 4A?" I frowned. There was a new student? Amy seemed as confused as me but over half the class apparently new what sir was talking about. "Jackson Greene? Right?" Kieren Doyle asked from his seat behind Kayla.

"I think so," Mr. Ryan said. "Anyway, lets get on with this class." He turned to write on the whiteboard, "This week, as we have for the last two weeks, we will be covering the topics of bullying, depression and similar mental disorders.

I sighed. This was going to be a long class. But thankfully it was the last one of the day.

*****

Amy comforted me as walked out of Mr. Ryan's class. "Its okay she said. "Noone knows." I wasn't too sure about that but I nodded none the less. Mr. Ryan had kept glancing between me and Kayla throughout the class to the extent that my hat and hair were covering almost all of my face and I was staring at the floor.

Even though we were out of the class I still kept my sleeves down just in case. I knew I was being paranoid but at the same time.....

Anyway, I losing track here. Amy and I made our way over to our lockers. Thankfully, since most teachers don't pay attention to me in class, I managed to finish most of my homework so I only had maths and SPHE. I don't even know why we get homework for that subject, its kind of pointless.

As soon as I put my Technology and Science books back in my locker I walked over to Amy's locker, jumped on her back and grabbed my bag from her locker. Amy jumped and I laughed. She mock glared at me so I mock pouted. We both laughed.

"C'mon," Amy said. "My mam is waiting outside, probably."

Amy and I made our way outside the school to where Amy's car was.

"Hi Carol," I said to Amy's mum.

"Hi Eve," Carol smiled. "Are you girls ready?"

"Yep," Amy and I said.

Amy's mum didn't know anything about Amy's panic attacks or my 'problems'. I suppose that was a good thing though.

Amy and I got into the car. Straight away Amy started playing her music. The first song that came on, as usual, was 'The Man Who Never Lied' by Maroon 5. Both of us knew all the lyrics so we sang along to it as we pulled out of the schools carpark.

"In the middle of Hollywood boulevard,

screaming at each other,

screaming at each other like oh oh oh.

Can't take it anyone more, ore, ore.

Like a tragedy, like a dark comedy

Laughing at each other, laughing at each other

Like, oh, oh, oh, it isn't funny anymo (oh), oh, oh.

I was the man who never lied,
Never lied until today.
But I just couldn't break your heart,
Like you did mine yesterday.
I was the man who never lied, oooOOOooo oooOOO OOOooo.
I was the man who never lied, oooOOOooo oooOOO OOOooo, yeah.

Sometimes honesty, is the worst, policy.
Happy ever after, happy ever after
Let it go, oh, oh, you never need to know, oh, oh.
I don't wanna be, picking up, all of these, tiny little pieces, tiny little pieces
Of your hea-a-art. Won't do it anymo (oh), oh, oh.

I was the man who never lied,
I never lied until today.
But I just couldn't break your heart,
Like you did mine yesterday.
I was the man who never lied, oooOOOooo oooOOO OOOooo.
I was the man who never lied, oooOOOooo oooOOO OOOooo.

I was the (I was the)... yeah... yeah-aaah... ohh... ohh.

In the middle of Hollywood boulevard,
What am I doin, Hollywood boulevard,
In the middle of Hollywood boulevard,
Screaming at each other, screaaam.

I was the man who never lied,
I never lied until today.
But I just couldn't break your heart,
Like you did mine yesterday.

(I was the man) I was the man who never lied,
(Yeah, I was that man) Never lied until today (Oooh)
But I just couldn't break your heart, (Oooh)
Like you did mine yesterday (Yeah, yeah)
I was the man who never lied (yeah, I was that man), oooOOOooo oooOOO OOOooo
(I was the man)
I was the man who never lied (I was the man), oooOOOooo oooOOO OOOooo
(Yeah)"

The song ended just as we pulled into Amy's house. We got out of the car and went into the house. Amy and I ran upstairs to her room, threw our bags on the floor and jumped onto her bed.

"So," Amy said. "What's our plans?" She pulled a stack of sweets, CDs and DVDs. This is why I love Fridays, I thought as I grinned.
