Chapter 12: I'll Protect You

Sans Pov

"I have a lot to say"

We sit in silence embarrassed by our outburst . Flowey rolls his eyes and crosses his leafs, " Care to explain why you've traumatized Frisk to the point she won't even leave the Ruins?" way to be blunt Flowey. I can't look Frisk in the eyes, she's been camped out in the ruins avoiding me. When I look at her she has nervous written all over her face, but I guess that's my fault. Exhaling I look her in the eyes, " Frisk I know what happen isn't your fault and yet I still granted no mercy to you, I told you I wouldn't let you blame yourself for what Chara does." I pause

Frisk is sitting silently and patiently, "And yet I blamed you for everything, you are just as much a victim as anyone else and I shouldn't have done that to you, I'm so sorry Frisk." I exhale again not realizing I wasn't breathing not that I have to but whatever. Standing up Frisk also gets up while keeping a bit of distance between us. Once again I make another attempt to approach her, but once I was almost close enough to touch her she started shaking and backing up. Frisk closed her eyes, " S-stay B-back i'm sorry *starts sobbing DON"T HURT ME!" she began running away of course I had to chase her, Toriel would kill me if she gets hurt.

Quickly I surround her in my blue magic but once she realized she was in it she started screaming like a mad man . With all this racket everyone in Hotland will hear her, I snap my fingers and she instantly knocks out. Flowey starts looking worried, " WHAT DID YOU DO!" his face was constricting into a demonic face. Sighing I fall to the ground " Don't worry weed she's just unconscious I only did it so we don't attract more attention considering no one knows she's here yet.

With another snap I teleport Frisk and Flowey back to there room and continue my day as usual, I need Frisk to know how sorry I am.

Frisk Pov

I wake up on my bed with Flowey sitting on the dresser sleeping, was that a dream? It had to be there's no way that happen. Quietly getting off my bed trying not to wake up Flowey, I walk down the hall to check the time 6:00pm wow I was asleep for a long time. Toriel was already in bed because she likes to be up early, there was some food left out for me so I just decide to eat something.

After I finished cleaning the dishes I heard a small knocking like in my dream, it was also coming from the basement. First I hesitated stuck in place debating if I should go wake Flowey, but instead of getting disapproving looks and being told what's right I go down to the door. When I reach the door another quiet knock hits, I grab the handle and breath it's probably a froggit or something nothing to worry about.

Opening the door Sans leans on the door way exactly like the dream, maybe i'm still dreaming? We stared at each other for a few moments neither of us saying anything but then Sans begins, " Hey kiddo sorry about earlier didn't want you to be exposed to the Underground quite yet considering you're still living with Toriel." he scratches the back of his skull. It wasn't a dream but how was I back in my room? Still with questions unanswered Sans grabs one of my hands and looks me into my eyes, I've missed him, his goofy grin, and his ridiculous puns I've missed everything about him.

"Frisk please, I'm sorry kiddo this time i'll protect everyone including you." Sans pleads for me to come out from the Ruins and stop hiding from him. " Come on sunshine how about it?" he used the nickname he made for me, my eyes begin to burn and warm tears stream down my cheeks. Sans pulls me into a hug and we stand there for a while, with the silence of the afternoon air. Wiping the tears away I look at Sans, " I forgive you Sans *escaping sobs I really do i'm just so scared, but i'm determined to make this last reset the best one." Sans was confused when I said last reset.

Sans pulls away, "What do you mean last reset? Frisk what are you talking about ?" his eyes filled with fear, confusion, and sadness. Retreating back to the door I turn back,"If I die on this run i'm not resetting because I can't do it anymore, i'm sorry." Sans looks down at his feet. " I'll see you tomorrow blueberry." I smile and close the door, tomorrow I leave the Ruins.
