Chapter 26 : The Monster and The Girl

Frisk Pov 

Cooking with Undyne and Papyrus is really intense, especially when they ask you to be a taste tester. Glitter is not meant to go in spaghetti! But I love to see them both happy, so I took the bullet. Me and Papyrus are heading back to Snowdin, we talk about new dishes like fettuccine, mac and cheese, and other noodle based foods. "Common Frisk, I'm getting bored I want to kill this idiot."  Chara never stops adding input.  "Frisk if you don't do it willingly, I'll make you suffer 10x the amount I was originally going to." Chara says threateningly, but I'm not letting her get to me. Soon Chara simmers down and stops talking completely. Even though I was happy for Chara to stop talking it left a knotting feeling in my stomach. 

"HUMAN? ARE YOU GOING TO COME IN?" Papyrus stands in the door frame of the house, I just realized I was walking without paying attention at all. "Yeah Papyrus." I run up to the door and walk inside, where a sleeping Sans lays on the couch. "Hey Pap, let's be really quiet for Sans. If you go get changed in your pjs I'll read you a bedtime story." I don't think I have ever seen him run so fast, he really enjoys bed time stories.  Walking up to Sans room I go to change into one of sans shirts, they go down to my knees so I don't think it's too much of a problem. 

Heading to Papyrus's room I'm greeted with a skeleton wearing red jammies with a stuffie under his arm. "HUMAN, I THE GREAT PAPYRUS IS READY FOR A BED TIME STORY!" Giggling I look over to the book shelf for a book to read. "How about I read the The monster and the girl?" Papyrus responded with rapid head bobbing.  I sit down on the side of his bed and begin. 

"There once was a monster and a girl who were always known for one another. The monster was known for protecting and defending the girl like a knight. The girl was known to be quite curious, and always being saved by the monster. 

One day they both met on the top of the mountain that looked over the village, the both confessed the love for each other . When their families found out about their relationship the human and monsters swore that they were each others enemies. The girl and the monster longed for each other, so they both met at dawn. They planned to run away together, they thought love is the answer. 

They married that night and ran away together the next day at dawn. Together they jumped into the mountain, and they stayed down there together forever.  The end."

This book made me tear up a bit, I laughed at myself for being emotional. Papyrus was already asleep so I decide it was time to head to bed. Walking out the door I bump into Sans who was outside the door. "Oh hey Sans." I say still wiping tears from my eyes. Sans looked concerned but I waved him off; grabbing his hand I lead him to his room where we lay on his bed. "Why are you crying sunshine?" I laugh, his concern for me is cute. I told him I read Papyrus the story of the Monster and the Girl, and it kinda got to me. 

I was engulfed in a hug, Sans needs to relax but I do appreciate him. Laughing softly I slowly drift to sleep where I'm greeted with a terrifying child ... Chara.
