I looked around. I then asked, another one of my "hundred questions".
"Where is my drop? The one I fell in." I asked Alice.
"I know, just follow me... I didn't even ask, what's your name?" Of course, the most common male name in this world was Steve... but I didn't want to be Steve.
"I don't have one yet, but I'm looking for suggestions." I told her, knowing full well it would sound totally weird.
"There was this nice person in my village, but he went missing. His name was Fred, if you want that name..." she smiled, but sadly.
"Fred... FRED... Freddy-fred-fredson..." I spoke in different pitches and accents. "Sure... I like Fred." I told her. She smiled, a bit more happily. We finally arrive, and I look up. Trees. Yes... trees. When was the last time I saw a tree? It seemed I've been here ages. I look down, and realize we're in water. The little bit of water I fell in to keep alive.
"Right, resources. Anything helpful?" I asked... again. She proceeded in giving me two full stacks of cobble. Spending so much time in this mine, she would have cobble wouldn't she?
"OK, so... we're more or less in the middle of the drop, build upwards. It is daytime, so there is nothing that could hit us from here, we then make a bridge towards the edge of the drop, then we're there. I tell the rest of my plan later, OK?" She nodded in agreement. We built upwards, leading to the sunlight. It was brighter and brighter. I turned to look at Alice, she was smiling but hard at work. She would finally be free. We got to the surface, and looked at each other, smiling and laughing, before I noticed the skeleton, on fire, but aiming its arrow at Alice very carefully, one last kill. I could read it in his mind (if he was one). One last kill. I didn't know what I was thinking, what I would do. I jumped from my cobble tower, to Alice's, and jumped in front of her. I got the arrow directly in my stomach.
The pain spread from my stomach to all my body. I looked down to see blood oozing. I felt weak. I felt dizzy. I collapsed onto my knees, and onto the floor. I could hardly feel anything, but one small ounce of life in me. The last thing I felt, was my body rolling off, falling back down into the drop.
