With tears streaming down his face, Jimin ran outside, sobbing loudly and desperate to stop the two men, despite knowing that he'd never be able to physically; a wolf seeing red was extremely dangerous, running purely on instinct.

Watching Jimin's body disappear out of the den, Taehyung wasn't thinking when he suddenly jumped up and ran after the brown-haired human. The displeased grunt from Namjoon didn't even reach Taehyung's ears as he crossed the packed cave and slipped through the pitch-black opening, leaving the nicely warm den behind. When he stepped out of the cave, a wall of frostiness hit his almost bare figure, as he was still only dressed in socks, leggings and his well-known sweater, which left his teeth chattering and body shaking almost immediately.

It was extremely dark outside, as heavy clouds were obscuring the moon and stars. The small amount of light that escaped out through the cave's opening, however, allowed him to get the jist. If he had any doubt, however, the overpowering growls told him enough.

When Taehyung heard Jimin's sobs, he looked to his right where Jimin was standing only a metre away from him, horror written across the poor man's face as he stared into the darkness with wide, wet eyes. Turning his head, Taehyung managed to distinguish two wolf shadows in the darkness. Taehyung moved further to the right, which allowed more light to escape the den, making the outlines of the wolves even more visible to the two humans.

Jungkook was standing on the left, posture extremely threatening; his ears pointing backwards and the sharp set of teeth visible, attempting to threaten his opponent, as intimidating growls left the wolf's mouth. His dark fur made him hard to tell apart from the gloomy background, however, his cutting golden eyes made him stand out.

Taehyung shivered, not just from the cold.

Yoongi was standing on the right side, his grey fur lit up in the yellow glow from the cave lights, making him easier to make out in the gloomy darkness. Comparing the two rattled wolves, Yoongi was far more devoted to the fight, snarling and roaring at the younger wolf while showing off his set of teeth as well.

Although the fight hadn't started yet, it was obvious to Taehyung that for Jungkook, the battle was only about self-defence whereas with Yoongi, the combat was far more significant. It concerned pride and revenge for Yoongi, and Yoongi demanded blood.

Somewhere behind Taehyung, he could hear shuffles and he wasn't surprised when he felt an enormous hand on his shoulder, squeezing comfortingly – not that it actually worked. Glancing back, Taehyung saw Namjoon hover over him, the wolf man looking torn as both the sight of his beautiful mate and the fight that was just about to take place fought for his attention. Taehyung looked over the Alpha's shoulder and saw a group of seven or eight wolves, calmingly sitting down in the cold snow while silently regarding the two wolves that were ready for combat.

To Taehyung, most of the wolves in the pack looked the same. However, he was able to distinguish a handful of wolves from the others; he remembered seeing those specific wolves pacing around Seokjin, the injured hunter, this very afternoon. So the wolves that were lining up, their gazes resting on Yoongi and Jungkook had to be hunters. Interesting. They were probably there to make sure nothing got out of hand, Taehyung reasoned – or rather, Taehyung desperately prayed since he didn't want this to end in a bloodbath. Especially not when the two fighting wolves apparently meant a lot to Jimin, and as much as Taehyung still loathed Yoongi, he acknowledged Jimin's feelings for the wolf, even though they made Taehyung want to knock some fucking sense into the other human.

One high-pitched howl started it all, causing Taehyung to snap his attention back onto the two wolves; only this time, Yoongi had set off and ran towards Jungkook. His attack was precise, calculated, and even though Jungkook was prepared, Yoongi managed to hit him sideways, causing the two wolves to fall over and land on the snow-covered ground. Instantly, Yoongi got the upper hand in their fight as his frame hovered over the younger's, holding Jungkook down with his wolf's enormous weight.
