TW: smut , throwback to some serious torture/rape scene (although very minor, like, only a small paragraph, nonetheless it's there).

Hoseok's identifiable grey wolf neared the other hunters, the brawny legs sizzled over the snow-covered ground. The sight would've been both fascinating and frightening for outsiders, creatures that weren't a part of the infamous pack that Namjoon ruled with an iron fist. The way Hoseok moved, so gracefully and swiftly, was a gift only a few possessed; no wonder Hoseok is regarded as one of the best warriors and perhaps the quickest one in the pack.

"Alpha, we're close to the border – I didn't see anyone there but the frontier holds a foreign smell," Hoseok reported to his Alpha, long before he reached the group.

Normally, Namjoon had no issues with the packs living near his own, as long as they didn't trespass onto his own territory without permission. Until lately, there hadn't been any major problems, at least nothing the pack couldn't handle; however, there'd been quite a few cases near the Northern Border that'd begun approximately nine months ago. And Namjoon was far from pleased with the situation.

Namjoon had first discovered it on a regular patrol when he'd suddenly caught onto an unfamiliar scent, a scent that he didn't associate with "pack – and Namjoon didn't like it one bit. In the beginning, the whole pack had been confused as they'd never had any issues with the neighbouring pack in this area or its Alpha Woohyun before, so why now? Unfortunately, it became obvious rather quickly that the strange smell didn't belong to Woohyun's pack, in fact, that pack's scent was actually very vague as if they hadn't been living there for months. That was when it became obvious that it was no longer Woohyun's pack that inhabited the rather small land next to Namjoon's.

Of course, the sudden disappearance unsettled Namjoon, not that he cared about his former neighbours, instead it was the striking feeling of protection of his own pack that flared up in his chest. If this unknown pack could remove Woohyun from his land, what couldn't they do towards his own pack? Sure, Namjoon's pack were a lot bigger than Woohyun's and they were also way better in battle no doubt, but Namjoon knew that once he underestimated an enemy that's when he'd lose.

Namjoon nodded curtly at Hoseok before mind linking the other wolves, "we're moving closer to the border". And so with his head up and steps confident, Namjoon, followed by the hunters of his pack, headed to the frontier.

It was fair to say that Namjoon was a well-known name in these parts of Siberia, as Jimin had referred to their home as. It was apparently what the humans had named the enormous land that they, amongst other packs, inhabited. And Namjoon would make sure that this new pack would learn his name as well – after all, they had broken the laws by trespassing into his territory.

Already from the beginning, Namjoon's tactic was to send a clear signal to the newcomers; in the hopes that it'd keep them off his land, he'd left a couple of beheaded rouges on the other pack's land, just accurately on their side of the border, leaving no room for uncertainty that it was Namjoon who was the instigator. But apparently, that hadn't worked out well, since the unpleasant and strange scent still lingered to his side of the border.

It's not like Namjoon couldn't understand their reason for trespassing; it was a well-known fact that he did possess the best land in Siberia, his territory full of different food-options, which the others didn't have in this icy desert. Indeed, Namjoon possessed the power around here, all sorts of tasty animals living on his land, but it hadn't come easy; Namjoon had to fight for this land and a few expansions so to speak, which technically was against the law too. But it didn't matter, since he succeeded. And in no fucking way was he ready to give it up.
