Sam's prov:

"Hey Sam can you mop the floor? Thanks."

Judy all but commanded me. Sigh if only I could slap a bitch and not get fired, that would be awesome.

As soon as I turn eighteen I am so getting the hell out of here!

The chime on the door rings dragging my attention to it. I see Matt come in with he's usual bright smile.

See Matt is my best friend, which is weird because we're complete opposites. Matts all 'I'm a football player and big smiles' and I'm your 'I'm a loner and probably don't go outside if I don't have too.' That's just our vibes.

He's muscular and I have a more lean and feminine figure. I'll still throat punch anyone that comments on it though. Poor Matt had to find that out the hard way.

"Hay Sammy! How's work?" Matt's way to cheerful voice almost echoed in the nearly empty dinner. The loudness made me cringe slightly and look at him like he lost some marbles or something.

"Its work Matt. You know how it is."

I look to make sure Judy isn't about to yell at me to get back to work. I turn around to see what she's doing,  however I'm a bit discussed and amused to see her eye rapeing Matt.

Rolling my eyes, I turn back to Matt and his smiling self.
"What's up man? Didn't think I'd see you til after work?"
I asked confused.

"Oh yeah I almost forgot to tell you, I'm throwing a party next weekend and I wanted you there."

"N- why are you doing that? Stop you know I can't say no when you do that!" having to look away from Matt and his puppy dog expression.

Signing I know there's no way to get out of this.
"Fine I'll go."
Matt beams down at me like I just gave him a hundred dollars. He's a bit out there for the captain of the football team. Nothing like you'd expect.

"Great see you Monday Sam!" We say our goodbyes and that one hand shake hug thing. Before he leaves.

"Sam get back to work now!" I roll my eyes because I know for a fact that she has done nothing but sitting there and drooling over Matt for the last maybe fifteen minutes.

But sadly she can still fire me. So I get back to work wiping off tables. I swear sometimes I only think she's the manger is because she's helping our boss get off, if you know what I mean.

Mentally gaging by the way. Ew just the thought is, is... I don't even wanna think about this anymore. He's 53 for crying out loud!

Looking down at my hands that are currently scrubbing down tables with a cloth. I see the little sparks of my magic bounce off the water. Curseing lowly to myself I look around making sure no one saw that. When I don't see anyone looking over this way or about to hog tie me and carry me to the church I relax a little and try to get a better grip on my magic.

I shouldn't let myself get distracted like that it could be my undoing.. With a cold shiver going up my spine I finish up quickly and try to avoid water as much as possible til I'm done working.

I don't really know why my magic is so aware of water more than anything and nether does my parents but we make it work somehow, like little things. Such as they don't let me go to school if it rains  and I have to avoid pools. But it doesn't affect me to much.

Judy tells me my shifts over a few hours later, fuck yes I'm beat. Sadly for me I still have to walk my ass home. Oh goddess take mercy on my poor feet.

Sighing I began my trek home. I need to practice my magic on the weekends and every time I get a chance so I don't really do anything social, that and I want to go unnoticed as much as possible in a town that could quite literally burn me at the stake.

Looking up at the graying sky, I think it might rain today. Just when I start to go into a another day dream I here the roar of a car engine and by the sound I'd say it was coming my way pretty fast.

I quickly move away from the road and become more alert to my surroundings. Thankfully this time my magic stayed in check because I don't see any sparks anywhere.

Looking up I see our preachers car speeding by. Hes looking a little to big for his own car.

I would say he's gonna get a ticket if he keeps speeding like that but who am I kidding.

He's the kind of man that abuses he's power, and social standing.
No one would give that fuck a ticket.

And here's the kicker if you do something against him, he'll say some shit like a demon is after your soul. Yeah that's a really fast way for someone to get shunned in this town.

While he speeds by me without a glance I get sprayed with water from the puddles.

Great.

I bite my lip concentrating making sure I don't turn into a glowing red neon sign that says 'Hey everybody look at me I'm not human!'

When he's finally out of sight I step back into the road and wave the water off of me before continuing on my way home.

Well today has just been peachy and it's only noon.
