The List

Run...

I had no idea how long we were running, but it was so long and my legs and arms felt like jelly. We stopped at a local diner, somewhere and had some dinner/breakfast. We then went on running after that. Then we ended up in quite a large town.

"Hey, Maddy stop! We need to stop running!!" I puffed out.

"Ok, ok where are we?" She questioned, looking around.

"I have no idea, to be honest" I sadi while sitting down on a park bench.

It was about 2am and was really cold, when I got the text I ran out scared still in my pyjamas, and no coat. That was the most stupid idea ever.

"What's going on Zoe, why the hell were we running away in our pj's, what's it all about?". She questioned sitting down next to me looking me in the eye. 

"I don't know anymore, I just don't know." I started to cry.

"Hey, hey it's alright I was just asking you a question, not giving you a lecture" She said laughing at the last bit. 

"Well when we went to bed, I suddenly got a text and it was from a random number, and well I'll just show you". I said giving her the phone.

She took the phone in her hands, and read through the texts gasping out in response. She then gave my phone back, a lttle shaken. 

"What are we going to do?" She whispered. 

I thought about it for a moment and gave her the answer. 

"We're going to hide". I whispered back. 

I stood up with Maddy and we looked around for a bit. I then saw a hotel and we walked towards it. We then went it booked a room for a week or so and made our way to the room. 

"You know we can't just stay in here all week". Maddy whispered to me as we got closer to the room. 

"Yea but that's when my second idea comes into place". I say back.

We went in and went to the bed's and just sat there not knowing what to do. I opened my mouth a couple of times but then closed it like a goldfish. If we said anything at all it would have broken the silence around us. 

Then I was the first to talk.

"We should probably go to sleep, so we can plan what to do tomorrow- well today". I said quietly. 

I slipped under the covers and got comfy. I just stared at the roof until I felt drousy and fell asleep. 

10.00 am the next day- (well that day)

We went into the town and bought some new clothes, and shoes. We came back and refreshed ourselves. 

My phone then buzzed.

I see you aren't at your house anymore, good choice there darling....

I will find you

"Oh no, nononono" I ramble.

"What, What's wrong?" Maddy said coming over to peer over my shoulder.

"It's them, it's him" I reply.

"Zoe, I think we should see the police about this, don't you think?" She asked, frowning in thought.

"No, never just leave it to me, it's ok I can do this plus we are in this together". I say standing up to hug her. 

"Ok, I'll be here for you, you know that, because your my best friend" She says while sqeezing me in the hug.

My phone buzzed again.

I will find you, you know..

And I also have your mum here, she's so terribly worried about you...

I should probably just tell her your dead and she doesn't need to worry anymore...

I will hunt you down, pathetic girl..

I'll be right behind you, everytime you go somewhere you'll have to look behind you all the time, because I'll be right behind you..

Then there was a knock at the door.
