I sat there, staring at my salad. My parents and siblings sitting around me, just like usual, everything is silent with us. Andrea stared at me, ignoring her salad. She finally stood up, making our table shake.
"Mom! Dad! Why is she invited?" She points at me. "Why not me? I am better than her." She growls.
Mom raised her right hand, a sign for silence. "I can explain."
Andrea glares at her. "Oh, really! Then what is this genious explination, huh?"
Mom sighs and looks at dad, giving him tired eyes. We weren't always like this, I remember Andrea being the best big sister ever, until we struck rich. That's when she turned cold, and always thought of me as something like a hand me down.
"He asked us himself to invite Caroline. We don't know why, he just did." Mom looks at me.
Andrea's face suddenly turned more horrified then her last. "He asked wanted her and not me!" She screams. She gave me one last look before storming off to her room.
Mom held my hand gently. "Everything will be fine, she just needs to calm down."
I gave her a reassuring smile, then nodded my head. She kissed me in the forehead then turned her attention to Clarissa, my little sister. She was only four, so mom made sure that Andrea won't influence her.
"Where did Andi go?" Clarissa asked, using her playful tone.
Mom smiled at her. "She just went to her room, Andrea is just tired."
My gaze fell on dad, as mom talked to Clarissa. He has been quiet all week long, I wonder what's holding him up. He stared at me, with blank empty eyes. Making me more worried of him. He gave me a fake smile, then continued to stare down at his food, pushing the bits of potato around the plate.
"I have to go." I excused myself and walked up to my room, gently closing the door. I jumped on my plush bed, feeling the velvet soft silk blanket wrap around me. I grabbed the nearest pillow and hugged it.
I sighed. "I missed it when we were poor." I mutter.
I stared at the pillow I was hugging, tears dotting it.
I stood up and walked to my drawing table, picking up a blue pencil. I sat there, scribbling random drawings, tears still falling from my eyes and ruining the paper.
Dropping the pencil to the floor, I lay my head on the table. Crying until no more tears came out, then I went to sleep.

"Miss Caroline!" I felt someone nudge my shoulder. "Miss Caroline!"
"What!" I sit up wide awake.
Miranda giggled. "Sorry to startle you miss. But breakfast is ready."
Giving a smile to Miranda, I stood up and walked to my closet, picking out a simple jacket, shirt and jeans. I change into the clothes, giving one last glance to the drawing I made last night. It showed me when I was five, then there was mom and dad, with Andrea who was only seven. I smiled.
"I missed that." I whispered.
Miranda looks at me, raising an eyebrow. "You miss what Miss Caroline?"
I pointed to the picture I drew, Miranda walked over to it, hands behind her back. She held the paper gingerly in her hands. A smile on her face. Then she looked up at me.
