Chapter 12

we are more than just friends... we are rivals..

'how do you feel, Sheira?' Rena suddenly asked me after we both went out from our class. We just had our last class for that day. 'what do you mean?' I asked her not understanding her words. 'tonight, it's the audition' she said. 'thrilling..i'm excited' i told her smiling as I really am excited. 'we will be facing, Harry and his team, right?' she asked again and managed to silent me. 'yeah..' i said short. 'are you okay?' she asked again worrying about me being a rival with my own friend. 'i'm okay! hey, he's not the only friend that i had to compete with' I said to Rena reminding her that the other teams are also my friends.

'i just can't wait for tonight' I tell her. She smiles.

That evening, me and my drama team members gathered to practice for the last time before the night comes. As we're taking our break, I went near the huge mirror on the wall and observed myself carefully. 'hey, Ash..teach me a few moves that you guys think of for your last semester's dance competition' I called out for Ash. He smiled. 'you're interested?' he asked while approaching me. 'a little bit' i said. 'Fira, turn on the music for us' said Ash asking Fira to play the music. Ash showed me a simple move first for me to learn. As I followed him, he taught me much more difficult moves.

'not bad, Sheira' said Ash. 'ahha..this is fun' I said. 'why dancing so suddenly, Sheira?' asked Fira being interested in my interest. Rena smirked. 'well, that certain someone is going to dance tonight. So, she kind of wanting to know how it feels too' she said mocking me. I kept silent. 'yeah, yeah. say what you want' I said. Every one laughed. 'wuu~ special someone, huh' said Ash teasing me. Every one in the team join the teasing as well. I laughed.

'enough teasing me! tonight, we gotta do our best. Friends or rivals..we WILL perform on the dinner night!' I said encouraging my team members.

That night, we wore our casual clothes as it is only a simple audition. As we're gathered at a corner, I saw Harry and his team entered the private main hall. While I was staring at him, a lecturer a.k.a our jury for the audition came up to us. 'even if you guys don't come, you will surely be chosen' she said. We laughed. 'and why is that?' asked Rena to her. 'well, you guys won so many awards and made the college proud. there is no way we could not let you perform' she said. We looked at each other and smiled. 'still madam, we want to be fair..and fight for it fair and square' I said. Every one agrees with me. The lecturer smiles. 'okay then, let's see what you got later' she said and left us.

'that was a positive encouragement' said Ash. We nods in agreement. 'it's true that we've been well-known in the whole college. we even have our own fan-club but, like Sheira said..let's fight fair and square for this' said Fira.

We were laughing and being positive when I noticed Harry was staring at me. Soon after his teammates joined the staring. I froze and got chilled all over my body. 'what are they doing?' asked Rena to me noticing the staring as well. I turned to her and shrugged. 'don't know but it brings me chill' i said hugging myself. Rena giggles. 'he's coming here! with his friends' said Rena pushing me a little from behind. I turned to Harry and she was right. Harry and his friends are coming toward me. I prepared myself mentally. I wonder what he wants to say to me.

'hey..how are you feeling?' Harry asked me soon as he arrived at our spot. 'nervous' I said. He chuckles. 'really? the always-champion-girl is nervous?' he teased me. 'shut....up' I told him. 'goodluck' he said. I smiled. 'ya know..we;re rival..and rival are not suppose to say that to each other..but' I paused.

'at the terms of being friends..goodluck too' I told him with a smiles. He and his team are smiling as well. 'you're not bad, Sheira' said Zaeim. I smiled. Ash called out for me and Rena and we went near him and our other team members after we said goodbyes to Harry.

'Sheira...' Harry came near me and whispers.

'pay attention to the cool me later' he said while grinning..
