Just a quick note to say thank you for nearly 600 reads! It's always great to hear your feedback at the end of chapters. This part is a little shorter, but I've already written the next part which will hopefully be posted soon!
I plan to update weekly, but as I've been getting a lot more reads lately I might change it to twice a week.
Enjoy!Harry awoke the next morning, his head hurting just as much as it did last night, if not more. He glanced at the alarm clock, which was set to go off in one hour.
Coffee and arguments was never a good combination.
He'd barely slept - He'd close his eyes, uncomfortably falling asleep for maybe 10 minutes before waking up. He kept on itching his scar - something he hadn't payed any attention to for many years. He knew nothing was there, but he kept on touching it, thinking about what Ron said.
His head wasn't in the sand, was it? Voldemort wasn't going to come back - but that's not what Hermione had suggested. She had spoken about Death Eaters. It was possible, but why now? Why go for Hermione, and not Harry himself?Ginny turned peacefully in her sleep, her hair laid out majestically on the pillow. Harry hadn't told her anything, but she'd figured something was up. Luckily for Harry, Ginny had had a busy day at work, and had too much to do to fully investigate - Ginny's adamancy was something Harry loved, but when faced with it, was something he feared. Nothing like being married to a Weasley woman.
45 minutes left until work. That was enough time.
He got up quietly, changing into his work suit. He took his bag, and went downstairs.
Not even bothering to make himself breakfast, Harry left, shutting the door gently behind him.The Weasley household was already up and running, but was almost as silent as Harry's. Hermione was sat at the table, tea in hand. She wore a sky blue dressing gown, her hair messily tied back into a low bun.
Ron was making breakfast, all suited. They barely spoke, the only sound coming from the clattering of cutlery. Ron nudged a plate of eggs and toast towards her.
"Breakfast is served." He smiled proudly. Hermione smiled weakly, but shook her head.
"Not hungry, but thanks."
Ron sat down opposite her, his own plate in hand.
"I'm not taking no for an answer. Yesterday was tough for you, but -"
A knock on the door startled the couple. A look of fear consumed Hermione's face, but she was the first one to move. She got up to open it, with Ron standing at the table.
Harry stood at the door. "Can I come in?"
"Sure." She walked away, leaving the door open.
Taking that as permission, Harry cautiously stepped in.
Hermione re-seated, and began sipping on her tea.
"I'm sorry."
"That all you've got to say? Because we're a bit busy at the moment." Ron said as he jabbed his fork into the egg, causing yolk to spill everywhere.
"No. I've got a lot more to say. I was wrong okay? It was horrible, what I said yesterday. Hermione, I didn't mean to offend you. You're my best friend, and I just reacted how I did because I was scared -"
"Scared? Well we didn't expect you to be jumping up and down mate! We just expected a bit of maturity, I -"
"Ron calm down. You need to go to work, I'll talk to Harry -"
"Um, no Mione. I'm staying right here -"
"Oh for Gods sake Ron, I'll be fine! I just need to talk to Harry," calming down slightly, Hermione stroked his arm. "It's fine. I promise."
Realising Hermione wanted privacy, Ron scoffed as much food as he could in his mouth before getting up slowly, making sure to throw several glares in Harry's direction.
"I'll see you later Mione. Any problems, call me." And with that, he strutted out, evidently proud that he had made his point.
As the door shut, an awkward silence crept over the two, but was briefly broken by Hermione. "I know you didn't mean what you said. It's ok, I forgive you - if I'm honest, I was never really offended - you're scared, I get it." Her words were all rushed, her hands moving constantly as she tried to make her point. "I've just been a bit - shaken recently, you know? Things like this always seem to happen to us."
Harry smiled apologetically "I'm sorry, you know I -"
"No no! Don't apologise - I wasn't in any way trying to point blame, I just - you know what I mean."
Harry sat down in front of Hermione, looking down at Ron's half finished breakfast. "He never was a great cook, was he?"
Hermione laughed, gently pushing Harry's shoulder."So what now?"
"We plan. Lucky for you, I've already got one."
