If someone had been looking down on Ginny, Hermione, Harry and Ron, one would've thought they were studying last minute for a test. Heads bent over books, Ron nervously tapping an irregular rhythm on whatever space was left on the table, and Ginny sipping on her fourth consecutive cup of tea, it seemed only fitting that this group of adults were seriously behind on some work deadlines.

Unfortunately, life wasn't ever that simple.

They were searching for a loophole, a gap – something, anything at all, to help them take down Ivy.

"So what have we found so far?" Harry lifted his eyes from a book on hybrid species.
"Nothing different to five minutes ago." Ginny muttered, skimming the pages of a thick green book on different species of snakes.

"Let's face it, the books aren't going to tell us what Ivy's purpose is, or how to destroy it. Hate to offend you Mione, but I don't think books are the answer." Ron shut his own book, moving it to the growing pile beside him.

Hermione sighed, also closing her book. "I know, I know. I've just never come across anything like this before – hybrid species I've heard of, but for Ivy to be concocted in Azkaban like some kind of living potion – I'm truly at a loss."

Maybe it was because life decided to become a little less complicated, or maybe it was because Neville had miraculous timing, but just at that moment, the doorbell rang.

"Hi Neville. Cup of tea?" Ginny seemed too tired to notice Neville's excitement.

"I've got it guys, I've got it." He seemed to be practically jumping – a harsh contrast to the groggy, tired Potter's and Weasley's. "It's from a herbology book I have – plants that are created from potions serve a purpose, like to cure a certain illness or kill off a certain species of bug – it's all got a purpose. Once its specific purpose is fulfilled-"
It seems Ginny's fourth cup of tea finally kicked in, because she suddenly gasped.
"So once Ivy's purpose is fulfilled-"
"She'll resume a normal human state – like a blank page, she'll start again."

"Neville you're a genius. Now obviously we have the next big milestone – Ivy's purpose – but this is good. We're getting closer to ending this, I just know it."
Ginny's renewed enthusiasm seemed to lighten everyone's mood, and as all the books were swept away into the corner, and Neville joined the others, just for a moment – it seemed like everything was going to be ok.
