"Jack, pinky promise we will be best friends forever"
"Pinky Promise? Elsa, are you 6?"
"Jack you know it's our specialty, now pinky promise me."
"OF COURSE, WE WILL BE BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!!"
"Pinky promise?"
"Pinky promise," Jack said intertwinin...
I sat down on a bench and let everything process through my brain. My adoptive brother, (who I thought was dead) left me so he wouldn't have to go through the foster system. Because that made much sense, yeah? Did he really care for me that little or did he just have a really bad experience going through the foster system before?
I sighed and decided it was best of me to find some way to get home because aside from the fact that the option of my previous driver taking me home went down the drain, it was actually getting dark.
Looking around my surroundings I realized that I was in the town square of Pax Valley (made up town btw), the place where I basically grew up in during my summers. The good times, when my biggest problems revolved over a balloon. I remember running around this very bench trying to get the balloon my sister had stolen from me, and the very place she decided to let it go. Little me starting crying right away, but my brother tried to make me stop the waterworks after reassuring me that the alien that had my balloon was very happy.
The tears hadn't fully stopped so my parents decided to get the whole family ice cream from the nearby shop. Needless to say, my tears had immediately stopped.
The thought of ice cream made my stomach growl and that made me realize I hadn't eaten anything in hours. Maybe I can just wait till I get home.
No, you can't, not when it comes to food my subconscious said.
Okay, maybe I can't wait.
I looked around once again and saw a pizza parlor and rushed toward it. Soon as I opened the door warmth and the smell of cheesy goodness entered my nose.
My eyes wandered around the place and with its wood finished and comfy seats it looked homey. A waiter about my age walked up to me.
"Hi! Welcome to Papa Ramo's Pizzeria. How can I help you today?" He said without looking up from his notepad.
"Oh erm, a table for one please." He nodded and lead me towards a small table.
"Any drinks I can get for you while you choose what to get?"
"A coke, thank you." The waiter then left and came back with a coke almost immediately before leaving once again
I was lost in between choosing from the meat special pizza and going for a plain cheese when I realized the waiter had come back and ready for my decision.
"I guess I'll have a medium meat special and cheese pizza, Oh and some bread sticks!" I said as I looked at his name tag; Ethan.
"And I presume all this food is for you?" A scowl found its way to my face.
"Why yes, do you have a problem with that?" Ethan just shook his and smirked as he walked away.
A couple of minutes later he came back with my food and sat down in the chair in front of me.
"What do you think you're doing?" I asked.
"Well, you don't think you can possibly eat all of this by yourself do you?" I looked down to the food, okay maybe the pizzas didn't seem as small as I hoped they would be.
I then averted my eyes to him, now that I actually looked he wasn't all too bad looking.
"Don't you have to work?" I asked.
"Trust me, I couldn't get fired even if I wanted to." I furrowed my eyebrows. "My dad owns the place and is forcing me to work here during the summer." He said clearing up my confusion.
"Oh, so your dad is Papa Ramos?" I asked teasingly.
"Nope, that's actually my great great grandfather, this restaurant has been in my family for decades. Anyways enough about me, what is a pretty girl like you doing in a restaurant at this time alone?" He asked.
"It's a long story."
"I have time."
Ethan is such a bitch, like hoe if I want to stuff two pizzas down my throat with even more breadsticks, I will. You don't get to judge me and take my food. But whatever Elsa is a totally different person than me.
