Chapter 8

I took a quick shower in the morning. I could smell the pancakes Ezra was making in the kitchen while I was putting my shorts and tank top on, the weather was going to be great and Ezra and I were going to the beach with Spencer and Toby.

I heard Ezra coming to the bedroom. "Hey, you're awake? I thought I could wake you up with a nice breakfast and a kiss." "I could just get that right now" I said taking the plate with pancakes and placing it on the bed and leaning in to kiss him. "Spencer and Toby will be here in 40 minutes" Ezra said stopping our kiss. "I'll better start these delicious pancakes then" I said.

Spencer and Toby knocked on our door 30 minutes later which meant they were 10 minutes early but since Ezra and I were both ready it didn't matter.

"Girl talk, like right now" Spencer said when we arrived on the beach. We left the boys with our stuff and started walking down the boulevard. "So, I wanted to tell you first" Spencer began "or actually show you first" she added. She showed me her right hand, on her ring finger was a beautiful ring. "He proposed" I said in excitement. "Yes, he proposed to me yesterday. It was so romantic, he asked me in French. You know about me tutoring him, right?" "Oh my god, he did? God he deserves an award for most romantic proposal. Congratulations Spence" I said hugging her. "Oh and Aria, I want you to be my maid of honor or matron of honor if you get married first." "Only if you'll be mine too! You're probably going to get married first. Ezra and I decided to get married after this little girl is born" I said while I stroked my belly "I want to feel beautiful on that kind of big day and I don't feel beautiful like this." "Oh you'll always be beautiful Ar, I bet Ezra can't tell you that enough" Spencer said while we walked along Starbucks "I need caffeine you want some too?"

"God, you girls were gone for a very long time" Ezra said while we came back with coffee and still busy catching up with each other. "Sorry, we got distracted and got you some coffee" Spencer said. "Well, congratulations to you two. Toby just told me he proposed." "Thank you" she said with the biggest smile on her face which made me smile even more. It feels so good to see your best friends happy. Spencer sat down on Toby's lap while I just sat next to Ezra resting my head on his shoulder. "You know you could sit on my lap too, right" he whispered in my ear. "I don't think that's a really good idea" I said rubbing my belly. "Is she kicking again" he said. "Yes, I wish she wouldn't kick that much." "You'll be fine, it won't take long before you can hold her in your arms" he said while he was playing with my hair "just 8 weeks more." "Aw look at you two, cuties" Spencer said. I laughed at her comment.

"So this is the lucky young couple the whole town is talking about." it was Andrew with his wife Jenna, she was carrying a little boy I assumed was their son. "I heard you two are getting married" Jenna said "congratulations. "Thank you" I said, obviously showing how 'happy' I was to see them "congratulations on getting married and having a son." "Thank you" Jenna said "what are you guys doing here?" "We were just going to leave" Spencer began "we have been here since early in the morning." We took our stuff, Ezra helped me up and we walked off the beach towards the boulevard. "First you never see him and then he suddenly turns up on almost every corner of the street" Spencer said "I swear that man is creeping me out." Toby took her hand and they walked in front of us. "They're so cute" I said taking Ezra's hand. "Not as cute as you are." "Oh stop already" I said laughing. We walked to his car and Spencer and I sat down in the back.

"Do you already have a name for this little munchkin" Spencer asked pointing at my belly. "Little munchkin? Seriously? That's even worse than pookie bear." We laughed. "No, it's cute" she said. "We have" I said making eye contact with Ezra through the mirror "her first name will be Ava, Ava Fitz it is then. She'll have a second name too but we haven't discussed that yet." "Ava is a really cute name!"

Our day with Spencer and Toby was really good, we had a lot of fun and we catched up with each other. We haven't heard from 'A.D.' in a very long time. I was 36 weeks pregnant right now and the doctor said that the baby could come anytime. It was normal to give birth earlier than 40 weeks so Ezra and I had already packed a bag if we ever needed to go to the hospital. I wanted to give birth in the hospital and not at home since I was pretty nervous about it.

I was home alone and cooking dinner for Ezra and I when I felt a pain going through my stomach. I walked to the table to get my phone so I could call Ezra. "Aria, I told you I was in a meeti.." "Ezra, you need to come home... Aah" I felt another pain in my back "I think my water just broke." I started crying, the pain was killing me. "Aria, babe. Stay calm, I'm on my way. I'll call Spencer to bring you to the hospital, it'd take me 50 minutes to go home. You'll be fine okay, I'm on my way."

Whitin 5 minutes Spencer walked into our house. "Ezra called and.. Oh my god Aria, are you okay? Come on I'll take you to the hospital, do you have a bag ready." I stood up from the couch still feeling a lot of pain. "Yes, it's by the front door." She helped me walk to her car and we drove to the hospital as fast as we could. We walked into the hospital and Spencer got me a wheelchair, I was brought to a room where Doctor Green was waiting for me. I was sweating a lot and in a lot of pain. They laid me down on the bed and put me on some machines. "Where's Ezra? God damn, where is he?" "Aria calm down, he will be here in half an hour. Relax, Ar. I'm here." I took her hand. "Aah" I screamed. "Spencer was it, right? I don't think we can wait for Ezra considering the pain Aria is in, we need to start now. Are you willing to help? All you have to do is stay with Aria the whole time and give her some help, let her squeeze your hand and all. And probably getting the baby from me, there are no more doctors available right now. Are you able to do that" Doctor Green asked Spencer. "Uhm yes, of course" she said nervously. "Aria we're going to get her right now" Doctor Green said "I can already see the top of her head so it won't take that long, Spencer will be here to help you." I let out another scream of pain before I started pushing. "Okay, Aria. I'll count to three and on three you will push as hard as you can." I just nodded. "One, two, three." On three I started pushing, I swear I wouldn't want to be Spencer at that time. I was squeezing her hand really hard, I could have broken her wrist. "Come on Aria, one more push. You're so brave" Spencer said. I pushed one more time and Doctor green took my baby girl. Spencer cut her umbilical cord and put her into a towel before giving her to me. I was finally holding my baby girl, she was crying on my chest when Ezra burst into the room. "Aria I'm right he..." He looked at me and Spencer. A big smile appeared on his face and he run towards me, he gave me a big hug. "I'm so proud of you" he whispered in my ear. I whispered something in his ear. "So" he cleared his throat "can I hold my baby girl, Ava Spencer Fitz." I gave Ezra our baby and Spencer looked up "you're naming her after me?" "It makes sense" I said "you were the first person to hold her, you cut her umbilical cord, you helped and supported me and besides all of that you are my best friend" I said sitting up straight. "Oh my gosh" she said hugging me. "Now will you help me make some phone calls?"

We called the girls and my parents, they could come if they wanted but before 8 pm because I needed to rest.

"Oh my gosh" Hanna said walking into the room "where is my baby niece." We all laughed, she was the last one to arrive. Ava was now in my mothers arms and Ezra sat next to me on the bed, my head was resting on his shoulders. "That's our daughter, Ar" he said proudly. "I know." "I'm so freaking proud of you. Ava Spencer Fitz, a beautiful name for my beautiful daughter with my beautiful fiancé."
