We Are All Happy, Finally

***Megan*** 

"Come on Darcy, you will love it" I say as Darcy wraps her arms around my legs. 

"I don't want to, don't go mummy" Darcy starts to cry. 

"Aw sweetie, its okay" I say as i pick her up. " You will love it, you will make new friends and have so much fun" I added. 

I put Darcy back down onto the floor and kissed her forehead. 

"Its only school sweetie, ill see you soon." I said as i started to walk out of the door. 

This was Darcy's first day at her new school. She was now 4 years old and my ray of sunshine. She is my whole world. 

I went out of the classroom and her teacher was stood outside greeting parents. 

"Don't worry Megan, she will be fine" Darcy's teacher Mrs Roberts said. "See" She added.

I turned back around and looked through the classroom window to see Darcy playing with some other children. She was laughing, giggling and having fun. After what we have both been though, im glad i can see her smile again. 

Of-course she doesn't know what went on, or who her real dad is. She doesn't know his real name but she knows what he looks like, she only knows him as 'dad'. Its just me and her now and that's all we need. 

I finally got my life back on track, i have a job in the local hospital as a midwife now. Jade lives a few blocks from me and my mum is doing well in her new home. She's settled down now, she has a partner who actually loves her and treats her nice. We are all happy, finally. 

* * * * 

I arrive at work to do my normal 9am to 5pm shift. 

"A Miss Allen" I call a name off the list. 

"That's me" A young girl answers as she stands up. 

I tick her name off the list and she enters my room. 

"So what seems to be the problem?" I ask as i look through her medical records. 

"I haven't felt my baby move since yesterday" She said worried. 

"Okay, Sophie, if you could lay on the bed for me and i will do an ultra-sound" i said as i put on some rubber gloves and got the ultra-sound ready. 

"Just relax, this will be a little cold" I said as i put some jelly on her belly. I rubbed it in with the probe. 

I move the probe around her belly for a few minutes, still no baby heart beat.

"Whats wrong? why cant i hear a heartbeat" Miss Allen..Sophie, asks worried. 

"I just have to find it, please relax Sophie" I said concentrating on the scan screen. 

A few minutes pasted and then finally a heartbeat. 

A big sigh of relieve escapes mine and Sophie's mouth. 

"And here is your healthy baby, do you know what your having?" I asked.

"No" Sophie replied. 

"Would you like to?" I asked.

"Sure" She replied. 

I wiggled the probe some more until i could see what it was. 

"Congratulations Sophie, your going to have a baby boy" I said with a massive smile on my face.

I finish with Sophie and then see the rest of my patients. 

* * * * 

It was finally 5pm. Home time. 

I get into my car and turn on the radio and what song is playing? 

Only One Direction's "Steal my girl". 

I turn the radio off and carry on driving home. I haven't seen or heard from Harry since I left. Niall texted me a few times when I first left but now I just ignore him. I can't go back, i can't get involved with Harry again. 

 I kept driving until i got to my mums house. 

I beep the horn and out came my mum carrying Darcy. 

"Hiya" I said as my mum walked down the steps to the car. 

"Hi sweetie" My mum said as she opened the back car door and put Darcy into her car seat. 

"How was she?" I asked my mum as she closed the back door. 

"She was fine, she's a little tired though" My mum replied. 

Me and my mum talked for a little and then i drove home.

I had been home now for 2 hours and i just finished giving Darcy a bath. 

"Come here Darcy, let we wrap you in a towel or you will catch a cold" I explained to Darcy while she jumped on my bed, soaking wet. 

I wrapped Darcy in a towel and started to dry her body. I put her in some Pj's and blow dried her hair. 

"Come on sweetie, bed time" I said as i picked her up. 

I carried her into her room and laid her in bed. I turned off the light and put on her night light. 

"Story" Darcy said as she pointed to her book shelf. 

"Okay, a little one" I said as i reached over and got a book. 

I started to read her a book and we were only 3 pages in before she fell asleep.

I Pulled her covers up and tucked her in. I kissed her forehead and put the book away. I left the room and closed the door quietly. 

I walked into my room and laid on my bed. 

I got ready for bed and as i was about to go to sleep i received a text. It was from Jade. 

Jade 

"Hey hun, what you doing tomorrow? fancy going for lunch? Love J.xx"

I replied back 

"Sure, is it ok if Darcy comes? Love M.xx"

Within minutes i got a reply from Jade. 

Jade

"Sure, see you tomorrow at 12. Love J.xx"

I put my phone on charge, rolled over and went to sleep.
