24. Forgiveness

Faith's POV

~ Two Days Later ~

Me and Jacob haven't talked in two days ever since the car accident. I mean, I wanna talk to him but I don't know if I should. I don't know what to do.

A few minutes later, I heard my mom calling me. "Faith?!" She yelled. "Yes, mom?!" "You have company coming up upstairs!" "Ok!"

I waited for someone to come upstairs and it was ... Jacob ...

"Hey," he said shyly. "Hi." "Um ... mind if I sit down?" "Sure," I said. He sat down at the end of my bed and I scooted next to him, but not to close.

"So, uh ... how long do you have to be on the cast?" He asked just to break the awkward silence. I looked at my ankle. "About 3 weeks. What about you?" "2." He said. "Oh, ok," I slightly smiled. He smiled back.

I couldn't take it anymore. I just wanna get it over with. "Look," I said. He looked at me. "...I'm sorry... Wait, why are you sorry?" We said at the same time.

"Ok, you first," Jacob chuckled. "Well, because if it wasn't for me, you would've never dated Justice then none of this would've happened."

"No, this was my fault. I shouldn't have treated you that way. I should've known that she was brainwashing me. I should've broken up with her a long time ago. No one treats my best friend like nothing. You're the most important person in my life."

I smiled. "Thanks." "No problem. So am I forgiven?" He smiled. "Yes, you are forgiven. Am I?" I laughed. "Yes," he laughed. "Come here," he said as he pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back. "I love you, Fae." "I love you, too, Jake."

We pulled away then looked at each other. Something felt weird. I don't know. It felt like I had butterflies in my stomach but I didn't know why. Jacob leaned in and I hesitated but I did the same.

We were so close to each other, our noses were touching. Out of nowhere I said, "Kiss me," and before I knew it, our lips connected. It felt like I was on the clouds. I've never felt like this with him. It was a special connection we shared. I never thought that I would be kissing my best friend.

I pulled away then looked down. "Sorry," he said. "No, it's ok," I looked up as I smiled. "I ... sorta like it." He smiled. "I did, too."

Something else didn't feel right. I don't know what it was but ... Oh, God! Trevor!

"Uh, Jacob?" I asked nervously. "Yeah?" "Please don't tell anyone about this especially Trevor," I said. "Ok, I won't," he said.

"Thanks." I sighed. "Well, uh, I'll see you later then," he said. "Alright, see ya," I smiled. He smiled back then left my room. "Ugh ... why?"
