Ava
I walked around the house with my headphones in listening to violin covers. It was one of the ways for me to stay calm dealing with things in my life. Nobody knew that I enjoyed listening to this type of music but I didn't bother to tell anybody.
I walked past the kitchen and looked at the time on the stove seeing it was 9 o'clock at night. It was the weekend so the salon closed not to long ago. I walked into my room and laid on my back closing my eyes listening to the music.
As soon as I was into the music my phone began to vibrate cutting off my music. I let out a sigh because, I was finally getting quiet time. My mom was keeping herself busy and not bothering me and my siblings was in their room playing. I looked down at my phone and seen it was my cousin Shy.
"What do you want Mashyla," I groaned. I had a feeling she was going to ask me to join one of her crazy activities tonight. Shy was my favorite cousin but she was too wild at times and our mothers knew it, reason why they never wanted us hanging out together.
"Is that how you speak to your favorite cousin," She scoffed, I let out a chuckle and rolled my eyes as if she could see me.
"What do you want chile," I said through laughter.
"Okay, I was hoping you would come to this hotel pa-" She said before I cut her off already knowing what she was about to ask.
"Nope, nope, no," I shook my head. Hotel party's were a no no for me and I didn't trust the niggas or the females.
"Please Ava, I promised this dude I would be there and I don't want to go alone," She begged. I know I didn't want to go but if something happen and it could've been prevented if I would've went I don't know how I deal with it.
"Fine, but we're not spending at night and I'm not hooking up with nobody," I said giving in. I knew my mom was going to flip about me going but if I could do everything else I could make my own decisions to have fun.
I heard here cheer through the phone before she spoke again, "Thank you, I'll be there to pick you up in 30 minutes," She said hanging up.
What the hell did I get myself into.

I passed the blunt back and forth to one of the niggas I just started working with last week sometime. I forgot the nigga name and didn't care to try to remember it. I spotted Q walking in and the dude quickly put the blunt out. I could see the fear come across his face causing me to scrunch my face up.
Q was just trigger happy he wasn't intimidating at all. I don't understand how people can fear another man that bleed like you do. I understand respecting the man because, he's the leader but fear? no. I only fear god and that's it.
"Niggas smoking on the job, that's how you get caught slipping. Now what if I was somebody else and just bust a cap in both y'all asses and stole the merchandise. Then what?" He snapped, I kept the same blank face expression meanwhile this other nigga was apologizing.
Q turned towards me and expected me to say the same thing and I began laughing. "First this was my weed that we was smoking, second the merchandise won't get stole unless yo guards ain't doing they job, and third," I lifted up my shirt showing the two guns I had on me and the knife on my ankle. "I ain't gon get slipping," I chuckled.
"I like you," He responded and I shrugged my shoulders. I could care less who liked me but you not going to treat me like a punk. The dude by me looked shock that I didn't get excited by him saying that.
