Ava.

I closed my eyes pushing the door open as quiet as I could. I had a high Shy behind me and was hoping she wouldn't do anything stupid at this moment. I honestly didn't understand how she even got high, she must had smoked while I was outside struggling.

As soon as we got in she tripped over the rug under us causing me to let out a sigh of frustration. "Get the hell up," I whispered yelled.

"Sorry." She mumbled. We walked through the living room until we heard loud clapping and the lap cut on. I looked over and spotted my mom and aunt Key passing a blunt back and forth, blowing the smoke out the corner of their mouth.

I cut my eyes at Shy and she looked somewhere else avoiding my glare. Next time I promise to go with my gut feeling because, this is some pure bullshit.

"See, I was gon beat yo ass and call it day but that'll be taking out to much anger on you. So you better thank ya aunt for calming me down," My mom said, taking another pull from the blunt. She got up and walked over to me looking me straight in my eyes causing me to break contact.

"Ma, I can explain, I was just-" I was cut off by my mom popping me in the mouth. I closed my eyes counting down from 10 to keep from hitting her back.

"I don't wanna hear it because, your excuses gon make me more mad and I might forget what I said and snatch you up for being sneaky," I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

Never again will I do something like this again, I'm going with my gut feeling and staying my black ass home.

"Am I grounded," I asked dryly. What was the point of grounding me and treating me like a child when I was doing things like and as a grown woman. She shrugged her shoulders and put the blunt out.

"If that's what you wanna call it. You still going to pick up the kids from school and doing stuff around here if I need you too. Now get out my face," She snapped taking her seat back on the couch.

I turned around walking upstairs with Shy attempting to creep behind me.

"Unuh bring ya black ass back here, I'll handle you when we get home," My aunt Key snapped, causing her to let out a sigh of frustration. She stared at Shy for a while then squinted her ass and then did the same to me.

"Yo dumb ass really came in high, who shit you smoke," She asked Shy calmly not breaking eye contact.

"My friends," Shy mumbled.

"Did you see them roll it," She asked, and Shy shook her head. "You know they could've laced yo ass right, start thinking before you start following behind some nappy head ass boy," She snapped, getting up walking towards the door.

"I'll see you later." She mumbled following behind, I nodded my head and continued my walk upstairs.

I didn't even care about being grounded I felt like I was living in a prison already. I felt programmed and I hated it. Nobody deserves to live like this.

One Week Later

I walked to pick the kids up from school which took longer than driving. My mom decided since I wanted to be "sneaky" I didn't deserve to drive around in her car. I didn't even bother explaining myself because, she was going to make up scenarios in her head to make herself right.

It was a little gloomy outside and you could tell it was going to start raining soon. I was just hoping I would be back home by the time it start.
