Ava.
"Are you sure you going to cover me," I asked Shy over the phone. I told her about how I was planning to go out with Cinad tonight and she was going to cover me since, we both know my mom would trip about this.
"Yeah, I got you. Just make sure yo phone on cause when I text you and tell you to come home. Do it" She warned, causing me to bite my lip. I didn't know if I could pull through with this I know how my mom gets when she lash out and it's not pretty.
"Alright," I mumbled. I was going to go through with it just because, I was tired of my happiness being overlooked because, my mom couldn't handle all of her responsibilities by herself.
"I'm not playing with yo light bright ass but I'm about to come over," She replied. We exchanged our goodbyes then she hung up the phone.
It was around 5 and Cinad planned to pick me up at 8 for our outing. I had no idea where he planned for us to go so I kept my outfit simple.
Since today was cold out I decided I would sport a I burgundy crop top sweater and a pair of light distressed jeans. I laid the clothes out on my bed and stayed in my pajamas.
I heard somebody knocking on my door I figured it was Emoni or Mace because, my mom never knocked she just walked in the house. I went to open the door and it was Mace.
"What's wrong," I questioned leaning in the doorway. He shrugged his shoulders and peeped his head in my room.
"Shy here but why those clothes on yo bed, where you going," He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Business little boy," I turned him around and pulled my door close. I pushed him gently before he took off running down the stairs.
I remember who I was dealing with and started following behind me. He was in the living room under my mom smirking.
My mom was too busy talking to Shy so she wasn't paying Mace any attention.
"I think you and my mom should go out together and I'll watch the kids for you," Shy stated, trying to give her a reason to leave.
"I got to run my salon I can't be leaving like that," She replied not budging I knew this was going to be harder.
"It's not even a lot of business tonight. You two really need it y'all don't get a lot of breaks,"
"Is this just one of yo tricks to just get me out the house," My mom said cutting her eyes at me.
"No not at all, I just think y'all should go out, me and Ava learned our lesson from last time,"
"Yeah, I'm cramping anyways so I'm not about to go anywhere," I added. She nodded her head taking in the favor. Mace was about to say something but I gave him a look daring him to slip.
"Well, I guess we can I'll be back by 9," She said. She went upstairs to change and grab her things.
"You owe me," Mace smiled showing his dimple. I cut my eyes at him and shook my head.
"I'm the big sister, you just gon be quiet and not say anything," I said smiling.
"Maa," Mace yelled, causing me to put my hand over his mouth. Shy stood back watching all of it unfold.
"Tell her and I'll tell her about how you got suspended Thursday from school," I smirked, and he shook his head and licked my finger making me let him go.
"Okay you got me this time but I'll get you back," He smirked back squinting his eyes. He walked backwards and keeping his eyes on causing me to shake my head.
