Chapter 4: A Child of the Moon.
~*~*~*
My arms were marked with the same exotic marks on the floor of the Arena, but the shapes somehow looked like fire up my arms. They were drawn deep into my skin, as if like scars. They trailed up to my shoulders, and the fire looked like it was somehow burning up my arms, dancing like shadows. As if sensing my curiousity, they glowed as I appraised them at them.
"What the hell happened to me!?!? My dad is going think I got a TATTOO!!! I'm GOING to KILL YOU!!!" I screamed at David, feeling the need to drain my anger out on anything, anybody, before growls would errupt from my throat and I would seem more viscious than I hoped to let these strangers see me as.
"Whoa! Calm down!" David said backing away. To my disgust, his eyes wide in awe, not fear.
I glanced down at my arms, but had to take a double take at my arms, and gasped. They were glowing the bright colors of orange and yellow, they blazed brighter than a bloody sunset at the end of the day.
I had to stop myself from screaming.
"I-I'm sorry." I said, abashed.
Tristan came over to me, glared in a cricle at the staring eyes and took me up from the floor.
"We'll be back in three days, the full moon. She will train, but only to better aqcuaint herself with this... Gift. And you will treat her with respect, as a person, or I'LL kill you." We went back to the changing room and I changed in silence.
Tristan got my stuff from the guys who took my backpack and jacket. He helped me put my jacket on."Don't worry, the marks will dissapear in time, you just have to watch your temper. You can hurt people now, with this power, Skye. I will help you control your emotions, I promise."
Tristan and I walked home and we went up to my room. We sat on my bed and talked for a while. He told me about how the Goddess marked me as a Child of the Stars, and I must learn spells and rituals from David.
He also said that I could also control fire and heat. We still had two more days left for the weekend, so he could help me then.
"I better get home." he said, I walked him to the door.
"I'm so sorry this happened." he said, head hung, ashamed. His blue eyes seemed to sadden and turn from midday sky to midnight.
I tilted his head up to meet my eyes, and said surely,"I'm glad this happened. I would've never been normal anyways, Tristan. I believe that everything happens for a reason, maybe I'm meant to do this. Plus, I have you to help me."
He looked at me, brushed the hair out of my eyes and said, "You sound just like your mother."
I stood, stunned as he smiled lightly and walked off my porch, down the street until he disappeared into the night.
I took a deep breath and somehow, I had a feeling to lock all the doors and windows in the house.
And usually, my feelings are always right.
When I was finished with that, I went to my bathroom ran a bubble bath. I undressed and stepped into the hot water. The burning heat somehow felt soothing on my skin.
The heat released the knot that had been congesting all day in my stomach, I closed my eyes and concentrated on the quiet and peace in the house. I got out of the bath, wrapped a towel around myself and walked down the hall to my room.
