Please forgive me for the long wait, I've been caught up in alot of different things, and I'm working on a private story as well. Please enjoy and I'll try as hard as I can to get these chapters out. :) Thank you for reading.
Chapter 5: Secrets Unfold.
My breathing came a little faster as I walked closer to the stairs.
Those definately weren't there 10 minutes ago.
I breathed in deeply and put one foot on the first stair. I went all the way upward, getting a strong feeling again. I made it to the top. I peeked my head up into the darkness of the attic, but I couldn't see anything, so I went back to my room grabbed my flashlight. I climbed the stairs again and turned the flashlight on.
I didn't see anything unusual. I checked my watch 7:30. I went back to scoping out the place. As my eyes scanned over the dusty wood that has time etched into the cracks in the floor, I found one tiny, inscription on the wall. It looked like it was scratched into the wood with a fingernail. Minae Blossom.
My mom's name.
I dropped the flashlight and fell backwards, off the staircase onto my butt.
The fall knocked all of the air out of my lungs and I scooted back until I was against the wall,
Breathing and sobbing in short, hysterical little gasps with my arms wrapped around my knees.
"Skye?"
His voice made me squeak and turn toward him. "I-I didn’t hear you come in."
I continued my shallow breathing, and wiped away the tears with my sleeves.
They fell anyway, seeming to have no end.
Tristan walked over and hugged me tightly, picking me up off the floor, and helping me onto my feet. He said slowly, "What happened?" He narrowed his eyes at the attic steps.
"What were you doing up there?”
I said, as I calmed down, "I heard footsteps so I went to the attic and saw my mom's name in scripted on the wall, I fell, and then you came." I was finally calmed down, soothed by Tristan's presence.
